Hey pfdr, congrats man. Did you already submit your live scan early before the interview or did you interview and were then told by your IA you are approved conditionally ? Did you get the email? Just want to see if the process has changed.
    17 weeks...

Jezz. By that count I still have two more months left.

Grats! Make sure you get a comfortable holster and practice drawing from it.

Sent my application in April....no delays on my part, picking up my permit on Tuesday.
By the way.....what is the process at the pick up interview....Is it really an interview or a 10 minute visit?

Nice, what time is your pick up we might bump into each other ? Well those who have actually done it should correct me if I'm wrong, but from everything I've read there is not an interview at all, and nothing OCSD sent me indicated an interview. It's waiting to be called up, showing them your origonal training certificate, driver license, and then a check OR money order for $120.22. It takes like 15 minutes and they make your CCW.

Right. It's in and out, no interview, no questions, just picking up the actual permit.

It's important to make sure all information on permit is accurate, take your time and verify. If you find a mistake it takes 2 minutes to make another permit.

Im a 22 year old citizen of orange county interested in getting a ccw me and my girlfriend go hiking frequently with my dog and weve had issues with coyotes and shady people and have heard of people being robbed but something tells me thats not enough to warrant carrying(ive just heard people on here putting that in their gc statement), ive been told by cops at my work that ive talked to say that you need to be creative if you dont carry large amounts of money or work at a dangerous job, seeing as i work at an Army Surplus shop i dont know what creative means.

My OC CCW will be expiring this coming May. What is the recommended 'lead time' to submit the application for renewal prior to the expiration date?

Also, on renewals, I'm assuming the GC statement must be more substantial than simple self-defense ... I'm not a business owner, etc., so my day to day exposure to any heightened danger is no more complex than commuting every day on surface streets that run along the fringe of Santa Ana on a full-dresser Harley. Have people had success with something along those lines? I also bicycle and hike frequently in some more remote areas of the county.

                            Appreciate any ideas.

What was your original GC statement?

My original GC statement for my currently issued CCW permit was simply "Lawful Self Defense".
