But doesn't that mean you are making the assumption that others' assumptions are not factual, and then presenting your assumption as fact?

    I mean, I assume that's what you're doing.

Good point, Dvrjon. Wait, does that mean I am assuming that I understand your assumption that I am assuming the assumptions of others are not factual and presenting your assumption as a fact that I am presenting my assumption as a fact?

I was very clear. I did not state that what I said was fact. I clearly noted that I was making an assumption. However, if you have determined that my assumption is, in fact, fact, then to you, it is a fact even though I assume that's not factually correct.

Excuse my lack of knowledge, but is there a thread here on all the information I need to apply for a CCW in general. I live in Orange County as well.

Like what are the requirements and stuff like that. I just purchased a gun, awaiting my 10-day period. So I would like to eventually apply for one, once I have some experience.

27 pages is a ton to read lol

First request for an interview, then read up on the rest.

Hello socalgio, you also might want to utilize this forum's search facility as a filter to just the information you need.

                  Cheers!

Page 1 started in 2010. Do you think that information will be relevant to today's needs?

Drop back to page 23 and start reading. Also read the OCSD web information already posted. Show some initiative...you're planning on carrying a loaded gun! (And, if you only own one, you're probably two short.)

Something seems amiss there. They can trace your firearms clearance - looks like it got lost. I would call your interviewer/file process person and ask them to look into it. While DOJ has been busy and backlogged, it doesn't take that long.

There does not seem to be much of a standard time frame for processing. I applied in April with a buddy. His interview was in Aug and he had his by Christmas. My interview was not until Nov and I haven't heard anything since. Looking at people's dates listed in their threads, each person has a different experience. I just think they are very busy.

What I believe is occuring is that all the incoming applications are given a general ETA date then assigned to a specific investigator, as they are sperate entities a difference in the interview dates will occur. Once your interview takes place your prints are then submitted to the Cal DOJ for investigation where it is most likely assigned to another set of investigators, who probably work at different rates.

In addition these factors, certain varibles prior military service, relation to LEOS, or security clearence may play a part. Get the wrong combo and are not that special? Wait at the end of the line.

Heck, its been 1.5 weeks and I am still waiting on my final pick up date.
