Anyone having any trouble reaching the CCW unit via their email form? I have used the form on the website once with no answer or auto reply from the system waited a week and then called and talked to a clerk who told me to email the CCW unit directly. Trying to add two more firearms onto my license. I never had a problem before and for some reason now it seems to be impossible to get a hold of someone.

I thought a form submittal was required for this? They have instructions for this process, just follow those. Sorry I can't be more specific without actually going and reading them. Perhaps Doheney can chime in, he seems to have the specifics.

What would you ask them that isn't explained on their site?

Follow the link above and it should show you what you need to add a gun. Re: the form, I have a friend who request an appointment that way. He never heard from them. He was cleaning out his spam folder and that's where he found his appointment

First thing, request an appointment. Then you have a 5-6 month wait to learn everything you want/need to know.

I went to get you the URL and found that the Sheriffs have a spiffy new page for new and renewals.

Artemis defense in Lake forest offers a free pre ccw class that will walk you through the process.

Yes. "Self Defense" is what we were all told to put two years ago and that is what I put the first time back then. It is not enough now. This time I did a one page "good cause" statement as I described in the post above.

And that is why OC is Light Green not Dark Green on the CCW map.

Thanks for the info, at least we know they are issuing for reasonable GC, just not SD.

Crap. Lost my CCW license by not having a merchant return it.

(Used it as second form of picture ID. They handed back my license by not the CCW. Didnt realize it until a few days later. Went back - Of course nobody knows anything about it.)

Has anyone gone through this process with the OCSD yet?
