Thanks a bunch. I'm in Azusa and I believe we go through LASD. Might have to suck it up and just wait the two years for a renewal. I guess if I go Glock 29 instead of Glock 20 I could EDC that.

Firing line for me in Burbank was going there, sitting the first hour in a uscca infomercial with one of their sales reps and I walked out. Time is more important to me than paying a little extra as I did with vip ccw

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's like a concierge CCW class/service. They come to you or work around your schedule.

I got my CCW training at Firing Line in Burbank. I didn't mind the USCCA spiel since I already decided to get insurance from them anyway.

Great day today, took 15 months, but I picked up this morning. Process was very smooth, showed ID, handed over $120 money order payable to LASD and took my photo. I showed up 20 mins early, but once called into the back, the process took maybe 10 minutes.

Good luck to all those waiting!

VIP offers private training, but I did the group class. It was a 4 hour zoom call where you have to have your camera on so the instructor knows you're paying attention. Once you complete the class, there is a test on their website that you have to pass (think FSC test with more questions).

Once you complete the zoom and the online test, you can schedule your shooting qualification. They use a classroom at LAX above the ammo store where you spend another hour or so going over some basics and doing safe handling demonstrations with your firearm. After that, you head downstairs to the range and shoot your target.

VIP is about $100 more than Firing Line, but the location was more convenient for me, doing the zoom and online test was also convenient, and the instructor was great. The only videos, were a couple on how to clean your gun that each person watched on their phone while the instructor was checking/clearing each persons firearms.

In short, I'd highly recommend VIP CCW.

Question: I submitted my Firearms & Shooting Proficiency in response to another email with the station. I haven't heard any confirmation even after reaching out once. Figure I messed up but I'm curious has anyone here received their call to pickup even without getting any confirmation of Firearm docs received?
                  App Submitted: 7/10

Interview Expected: Sometime around Summer 2035

Don?t worry and hang tight. I sent two emails with training completion and got no confirmation of receipt until I got the call for pick up in the morning around 8AM from an Unknown Caller.

Do you know when your check/MO was cashed?

Have you contacted the CCW Unit and asked when your app was input?

I submitted mine 07/01/2022, my check was cashed in 10/03/22 and app was input in Oct/2022.

Hey y?all new to this thread and to Cal guns but wanted to give y?all my status update For my CCW Timeline

June 2022- Applies day of Bruen decision
                        Feb 2023- Call for interview

I know all of us are trying to get status inquiries about it but try to not call them if you haven?t done your interview that way it allows them to process the applications faster

Do you mind sharing when your check was cashed/if you applied in-person?

I applied the day after you (6/24/2022) sent to LASD via USPS but check wasn't cashed until 9/16/2022 and then a subsequent call to LASD on 11/08/2022 confirmed I'm in the queue...haven't heard a peep from them since. Coming up on a full year since mailing my app with virtually no progress.

Curious why our timelines are so drastically different.

My timeline is VERY similar to his. It looks like I should get my PTT call any day now.

As far as my check being cashed, LASD received mine 6/9 and cashed 7/8.

Your timeline is similar to mine and seems more common than what the other guy posted - his seemed much faster than average. I have a spreadsheet in my signature where you can add your timeline info and see other member's information to get a sense of how long each step is taking.
