So they just emailed me back confirm receipt but it looks like they changed up their email?

"Firearm training and certificate received. You will be contacted when your file has been approved and we are ready to issue your license. The approximate wait time after this last step of the process is four (4) weeks. Thank You for your patience."

What do they mean when your file has been approved? I thought being told to do training meant you're pretty much guaranteed now unless you really eff up between now and then. Now I'm worried again lol

It feels like they are just systematizing their process more. I seriously doubt they would tell you to get training if they planned on denying you.

Have been away fishing in the Sierra backcountry for a few days. Bummed to see no LG approvals and the sentiment that LG may not fly right now. Will be interesting to hear what Paladin comes up with.

As someone said, still think Villanueva deserves my vote. Yes, I got approved, so easy to say, but, I've lived in LA county for 30 years and this is the first time LASD is issuing to regular folks. Before, you had to be an A lister, retired Judge of "friend of the Sheriff", to get issued. It certainly ain't perfect, but it is pretty dramatic progress for LA.

I hope not since that costs people time and money haha.

The 4 week bit was exactly what my interviewer told me when I called the CCW unit (he picked up) to check if they got my additional proof of GC that I emailed to the deputy.

There’s a logic issue to keep in mind here.

Most likely the LASD email responses are preprogrammed, cut and paste.

Seaweed sent in his training unsolicited. They probably did not have a canned email response for that, so maybe they sent the response crafted for those who had been directed to training?

Who knows. It seems their canned responses change here and there. Maybe the people working the emails have their own canned responses that they use. Either way, I think I'm good to go but you can never be too sure.

Relax and let the process happen. None of this is going to speed it for you. Rub one out whenever you start l getting wound up it.
