Had a question about listing the handguns? What if i bought a handgun bought its in the 10 day wait but the application is already sent and being processed? I guess what im asking is, does the firearm need to physically be in my possession in order for it to be listed

No. If you know the serial number you can put it on the app and send it in. You should do this because you want to use up all three slots if at all possible, and make sure they are guns that are well suited to CCW and your needs.

          edit:
ok i just read it on the lasd website

              criminal offense

question regarding juvenile records. in junior high school i was at a record store (remember those?) like a sam goody or tower records or something and one of us was caught pocketing a cassette. no, it was not me, i was on the other side of the store actually but the manager held us all together since we all came in together. leo showed up and we were all charged with shoplifting. i'm unclear on the actual charges or what the legal process was that happened, but we were taken to the station, fingerprinted and there was a bunch of paperwork. parents came to get us and we were all freaked out and in tears and all that. yada yada yada.

this was literally the only time i've ever been arrested. i'm not sure how to even get the details of something that would have happened almost 40 years ago and considering juvenile records are supposed to be sealed am i supposed to list this? not sure what details to provide since they'd be so difficult to dig up at this point.

Exactly. People who want their CCWs need to do their own legwork. You've done a great deal of it already.

Yes, I would disclose that. One of the questions asked is if you "have ever been arrested".

Has anyone else tried to get through to someone at LASD to inquire about the possibility of the local PD requirement being waved now?

If he had his minor record sealed I think CA law states that he would not be required to disclose and would not be committing perjury if he did not disclose since sealing it would be like it never happened. INAL so someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I received an email today, regarding if denial letter still required from Torrance PD. Here is there statement, guess if i waited a couple weeks it would not have costs me $200 plus:

                        Good afternoon,
No, a denial letter is no longer needed.

So I replied if they will proceed with my current application which is currently on hold.

Going to give LASD a ring today and I'll report back with my findings.

I would disclose it anyway. It will show the interviewer that you're revealing everything that could be relevant. I can't imagine that juvenile shoplifting (from the days of record stores and cassette tapes!) would negatively impact anything.

As for the other question about adding guns to a permit later, no you can't. You have to wait until renewal (2 years). USE ALL THREE SLOTS IF AT ALL POSSIBLE! If you only have one gun and can't afford anything else, then go with that, but if you have more or can afford one more, get it. You want options in case a gun isn't working well, you don't like carrying it, someone offers you lots of money for it, whatever... try to use all three slots.

That is no longer to be found under the Qualifications section he linked or anywhere else.

People should contact LASD and/or their own PD to confirm a PD denial letter is still required. Trust me.
I called LASD, closest to my residence, and told the officer that I saw was what seemed to be a policy change early April in regard to CCW applications and if could confirm that. I told the officer I was in the process of applying for my CCW and I wanted to know if I still had to continue going through LAPD first. He explicitly said, ultimately its up the the Sheriff to issue so there is no need to go through LAPD.

EDIT: Not sure if this was due to my location, since I border between two cities and I am directed to community center vs an actual station, but the officer knew exactly where I lived. He even said "just come by and drop it off to this office, or mail it in the main in DTLA."
