Once I get some documents squared away, I'll be getting a pistol and will begin the process to apply for a CCW. Has anyone else tried and succeeded from Glendale/Burbank? I searched and found one that was denied but if there isn't anyone else in this area that has, I'll be the guinea pig for the area.

Why bother applying with your local PD? Just apply with the sheriff.

Are you worried about the money aspect of it?

            It's $30 to apply
            $120 for live scan
            $300 ish for a class?
            And a $120 for a license.

Assuming you have a firearm, holster and ammo.

If you were referring to me, money is not an issue, I have a bunch saved up, my work is pretty off and on even without covid. I'm just worried that currently being unemployed might negatively effect my chances of being approved. I'll be honest, I just found out today that it was becoming a possibility in LA county, I never really looked into the process before now as I assumed it was off the table.

Hi gents im still confused about this.

1 person said LEO and another said no need for witness to sign.

Can anyone else chime in on this please?

No need for witness signature, just sign your lines. The deputy will sign off later where needed.

There have been some good posts here with lots of good information but probably most people who actually have CCWs here are not going to come out and say it. You'll have to just read and decide what makes sense. Paladin has been posting a lot information sent to him privately by people with CCWs.

I didn't get time to finish up my GC statement but hopefully I can get something going by the end of the week and get my process started.

Follow the guidelines that lasd gave us.. It clearly says to ignore the doj instructions and instead follow the LASD instructions.. witch means to fill it all out and sign the 3 pages and mail it in.. Very simple.. You don't have an interview with the doj, You have an interview with LASD..

                            Hope this helps

Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva has revealed that he has only spoken to the county's new reform-minded District Attorney George Gascón once since he took office.

Like a few others here, I am waiting on my firearms portion of the livescan to clear. The DOJ and FBI results come quickly but the firearms portion seems to take a long time. I did a livescan back at the beginning of January 2020 and I found the paperwork. It took 27 days back then so I think 1 month is a good estimate.

Does anyone know what the firearms portion is checking and what the results show?
