I am PURE light green - I was asked specifically to provide proof for ONE of my light green GCs (I don't want to publicly reveal) but let's just say it somewhat aligns with the few we have heard about recently.

In this thread it has been mentioned by most, read the first thread in this section, pay attention to posts 1,2,3, and 31. In post 31, it has this:
      (9) Employees required to work in remote locales at all hours with little or no cellphone coverage and/or long LE response times (e.g., wilderness photographer, surveyors, construction workers). Get letter from employer supporting the application and willingness to accept liability, copies of relevant certificates/licenses, provide photos of you doing job, value of equipment. N.B. Your CCW may be restricted to on-the-job only.

      (10) Employees at heightened risk due visiting isolated locations required by their employment (e.g., female RE agents showing houses to strangers at all hours while alone). Get letter from employer supporting the application and willingness to accept liability, copies of relevant certificates/licenses, provide photos of you doing job, etc. N.B. Your CCW may be restricted to on-the-job only.

      (11) Employees (e.g., business managers, property managers) who are at heightened risk due to valuables associated with their employment (e.g., Au/Ag, jewelry, pharmaceuticals, firearms, ammo or gunpowder ("inherently dangerous property"), cash sales or rental deposits). Get letter from employer supporting the application and willingness to accept liability, copies of relevant certificates/licenses, provide photos of you doing job, etc N.B. Your CCW may be restricted to on-the-job only.

      (12) The nature of the business or occupation of the applicant is such that it is subject to personal risk and / or criminal attack, greater than the general population (e.g., private investigators, some lawyers, process servers, plain clothes security guards, bodyguards, fugitive recovery agents/"bounty hunters," taxi drivers). Get letter from employer supporting the application and willingness to accept liability, copies of relevant certificates/licenses, photos of you on the job, etc. N.B. Your CCW may be restricted to on-the-job only.

So I was trying just that. But if I don't need one, then I will submit it.

I’m going to assume you work in California and are trying to obtain a LA county CCW. If that is the case your good cause would be yellow and you do not need to wait for July. As far as employment letter that should not be necessary. All you would need is proof that you are actually employed at said company (pay stub) and an itemized list of what equipment you transport along with its corresponding value. My GC was similar and that’s all they asked me for.
They don't travel here, I am the only one in Cali, they are all in Arizona or Texas, and a few other CCW friendly states. They don't get we can't just fill out a form, take a class, submit our prints, then they automatically send you a CCW with no reason for it, other than you wanted it. Trying to explain we have jump through hoops and give up our first born, and provide a reason is beyond their comprehension. I was just following Post #31 where it states to get a letter, but apparently I don't need one.

            @usual suspect

Oh strange, yeah I have a yellow GC and I didn't need a letter from my boss. They just asked to show I'm currently employed and in good standing.

Literally copied and paste to my boss.

" Can you send this back to me for an application"
'Lockdown36 has a big dick and is in good standing with The Corporation' "

Printed it out and it was solid. But apparently a business card is also good enough.

@ka1978 - LASD is still processing first week of April applications.

It's taking roughly 2 weeks to process 1 week of applications. However, the flood gates opened around the 2nd and 3rd week of April so I would expect 3 weeks processing per 1 week of the month.

I'm in too deep on 805s to do the maths, but I would say you're at least 2 months out from an interview.

Is formal training needed prior to interview, or only after approval notice?

After approval, but if you think you have a good shot (clean history, no douchebagery) then it will only expedite the process if you show up with livescan complete and training + proficiency complete.

My dad got a call for interview tomorrow. 4/15 submitted application. In cerritos.

Was told different schedules mean different areas. Everything from Norwalk to Cerritos to Whittier. Looks like they’re expanding and sending applications to various locations to begin calling. Stay strong
