Interview on 5/12/2022 and provided training, livescan, Bank Statements, business license, vehicle registrations. Was told to wait a month before contacting them for an update.
Emailed CCW unit on 6/17/2022 and was told the following: Your file is pending live scan returns. When we receive them, we will contact you.

I thought since my scans were completed awhile ago, they'd have them, which worries me. I provided them the information showing that it was done and completed.

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Also. If you haven't heard, check out the Supreme Court ruling New York on Gun Laws ---->https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.lat...true#cobssid=s
I was told the same ' Your file is pending live scan returns. When we receive them, we will contact you' and got the call 2 weeks later to pick up, almost at the finishing line.

My interview was on March 9th 2022 in Monterey Park.

During my interview the deputy said I could send an email 1 month after the livescan was complete. I sent the email on 6/19/22 to remind them, they replied the next day, you're still under review! Today 6/23/22 I got the email to proceed.

How do we get the proper information and documentation to preemptively start the lives can? I know they give you the document at the interview typically, but if I want to start it before the interview how does one go about that?

Download and print out the Live Scan form from the LASD CCW Website at https://lasd.org/ccw/#live_scan. You will see that some information is already filled out. It's the same form they will give you after your interview.
Then go to the DOJ website at https://oag.ca.gov/fingerprints/locations
to find a Live Scan facility near your area. Fees differ from place to place if that's a consideration for you.

Does the Live Scan "expire" if done a certain amount of time before the interview? Has anyone here completed a Live Scan ahead of the interview and then successfully applied it to the application after the fact?

I think this from the CA AG is a huge step as AV looks for direction here in LA:

From the California Attorney General's Office today:

                          No OAG-2022-02
                          Date June 24, 2022

On June 23, 2022 the USSCT issued it's decision NYSRP vs Bruen. .......

Accordingly, it is the Attorney General's view that the Court's decision renders California's "good cause" standard to secure a permit to carry a concealed weapon in most public places unconstitutional. Permitting agencies may no longer require a demonstration of "good cause" in order to obtain a concealed carry permit. However, local officials can and should continue to apply and enforce all other aspects of California law with respect to issuing public-carry licenses. In particular, the requirement that a public-carry license applicant provide proof of "good moral character" remains constitutional Law enforcement agencies that issues licenses to carry firearms in public should consult with their own counsel, carefully review the decision in Bruen, take the following guidance into account, and continue protecting public safety while complying with state law and the federal Constitution.

Just emailed CCW unit asking if there will be re-visitation of last year's denials in view of both, the SCOTUS opinion and Legal Alert from OAG
