Has anyone renewed? Looking at these processing times for new applications are they renewing on time? Having a 2 year permit is going to keep them busy. My renewals for my non-res out of state permits that last 5 years seems to come up quick.

They wouldn't want just anyone exercising their constitutional rights now, would they? Only those that are fortunate enough to be able to afford to. Disgusting.

CCW_unit@lasd.org. In the subject line you must add "FIREARMS TRAINING". We will not review or process your training if the email does not state "FIREARMS TRAINING".

Similarly, I also found the subject line information to be redundant, considering the fact that that's what the subject line of the proceed to training email was to begin with. I just deleted the "re:" so that only "FIREARMS TRAINING" was in the subject line.

I did the same thing. Though my email came from the CCW Unit email, not a deputy.

56 days for me.

I submitted my training docs on 8/5 and received a confirmation of receipt same day. I missed the call to pick up on 9/30 and now just waiting for the call back.

I’ m sure you can. I submitted mine a little over 90 days before expiration and they called for my phone renewal interview the week of expiration. Luckily I had already done the renewal qual so I submitted that as well and now it’s it’s waiting to pickup.

FYI, a friend of mine just renewed his as well. He submitted his renewal app a little after me. He had his phone interview before me AND was scheduled for pick up the same phone call. Just confirms that even the renewal process is inconsistent as well.

Any harm in submitting an additional application to LAPD in parallel now that they are accepting? My application with LASD would have an approximate 220 day head start, but at this rate it may get through LAPD faster, even if they already have about 700 applications in already.

Mailed application: 7/11/2022
Cashed money order: 10/5/2022 (86 days)

If you haven't mailed in your application, stop procrastinating...it's a long, long line.

I don't think so, just which ever gives you an interview first, I would think all you'd have to say is you applied to X too and see how to proceed

From others in here, people who applied in December are just now getting calls for interviews. Be patient and I'm sure it'll come (eventually!) For reference, I applied in June, and didn't get call for interview until April, so 10 months...

Yeah, just sit tight. I barely did my interview today. App sent in towards end of December. Some of the folks I was sitting with were picking up and it looks like the average timeline is about 15 months.
