The Deputy had a printed sheet of questions that he asked and made notes on. I am sure this is part of the standard procedure.
My Deputy was very helpful and encouraging. I found out later from the Lieutenant that he was only briefly on loan to the CCW process.
With some stable staff and others moving in and out, a prescribed process with standardized questions structures the interview, allows it to collect new information, clarify responses from the application, provides a face to face assessment of the applicant and makes the data collection part of the interview comparable to each applicant no matter who conducts the interview.
The LASD could not afford an unstructured interview that heavily depended upon the conducting Deputy. There’s too much at stake for the LASD and those issued.4/19/21 applied, 8/31 Whittier interview.
11/17 PTT email, docs sent 11/18
12/13 call for pick up, picked up 12/15/21.
Utah CCW since March 2018 and Arizona since June 2022
Mailed renewal 5/8/23, online 11/6, interview 11/15
11/26 PTT and docs submitted, 11/29 approved
Pickup 12/20Comment

I believe it was on a live stream with the sheriff I think that might have been on the interview questions as well. It stuck iny mind because it was from an authoritative source. Even if you forgot they will have a hard time believing you. I think a few people on here had a hard time after forgetting about previous LE contact. Sit down and rack your brain before submitting. I think you can also run a background on yourself to jog your memory. Might be worth it if you are really forgetful.
I think they do run a background and do some investigation prior to the interview. I think they have a higher level of visibility because they are a LEA. I believe I read about previous poster saying the interviewing deputy had a file with previous LE contact waiting at the interview.Comment

i believe they do run a background as well, when i got to my interview i was notified i forgot a letter in one of the serial numbers and the deputy fixed the application. so im assuming they ran a basic background and found the missing letter.yellow & red gc

We just had a cigar night with our friends, Most of us with March, April, May got our CCWs, but no one from June or July got their CCWs yet.
Very slow process, but there is nothing we can do about it.Comment

I'm thinking the later the app the wait time will go up exponentially until they can staff up. May was about 7 months wouldn't surprise me if June gets up to 8 or 10, July 11 to 12 months etc. As word spread the applications exploded. Probably not what you guys want to hear but I'm thinking that's what's happening. They are probably still on may plus holiday delays.Comment

Beverly Hills Guns has seen some upscale residents from Santa Monica to the Hollywood Hills increasingly buying guns as violent crime rates are up 25 percent over last year.
Rich Liberals in BH race to get guns and ammo as crimes spike.
Next they should push whoever can hire or fire the BH Chief of Police to demand he issue residents CCWs.
