i would actually do the firearms training myself (which i di). it would speed things up.

I don't think it speeds things up to be honest.

Theres people that have their interview and submit both live scan and training on the dot but still wait 3+ months for issuance.

On the other hand, if you recieve the training email then submit your docs, you are issued in about 2-4 weeks.

Again, if you are confident in your GC and willling to risk the money, go for it.

12 weeks??? The longest we've seen on here is about 8 weeks. Is there anything on your record?

Sent the check in April 2021 and it was cashed in August 2021. Just finished my interview yesterday and told to proceed with my livescan. Thanks for all the help gentlemen. I have a work related GC.

Sent the check last April? That has got to be the longest wait I have seen on this forum.

The livescan is going to run about 7-8 weeks

1-2 weeks the training email should come through after the livescan clearing

2-4 weeks for issuance hoping that everything goes great after submitting training docs

Thanks for the info. I hope they get my email right this time. I never received my initial interview email. My interview officer did say they have 6000 applicants. Will they try to call me if my email fails?

I don't think they call for the training. Usually they just send out an email but every deputy is different. If you don't receive an email after two weeks from your livescan clearing just shoot them an email.

Then again, everyday the process is changing it might take longer or less.

question about the livescan process. I was given the form from LASD after the interview and I just called a livescan place. They said I have to mail a copy in? The deputy sheriff who interviewed me said they would just pull it up digitally with the mail code?

What exactly do I do? thanks

Send over the completed livescan form to the unit. They will also receive it electronically. Right now, you are looking at up to 8 weeks for it to fully clear.

You take the livescan form that the LASD gave you and you call a livescan place that is convenient to where you are located. You take that form to the livescan place and they scan your fingerprints. They also input info from the form the deputy gave you and write down the ATI number from their livescan machine on your form and give it back to you. You keep that form with the ATI number written on it. You can go on the internet site and type in your date of birth and ATI number and track how the processing is going. You don't have to send anything to LASD. The livescan place sends your scanned prints to the DOJ electronically. When DOJ finishes processing, they send a letter to LASD with the results. You don't have to do anything. LASD will look at the letter from DOJ for about a month or two or three and then send you an email telling you to get training (if your good cause is approved) or they will sit on it a while and eventually send you a denial letter (if your good cause is not approved). In either case, you just sit and wait for them to do it. You don't have to do anything.
