Had my interview last Tuesday. I think it went well. The deputy stated, "unlike like our neighboring counties, hiking and camping is not a good enough cause as of now, however there are some circumstance of us issuing a ccw for such cause. We are primarily looking for POTENTIAL (she slightly raised her voice
with a quick pause) work related good cause." Also stated, "it is not up to me to approve ccw's. It's above me. All I am doing is fact checking, gathering additional info, and proof to get you approved, or denied. If I know an applicant won't get approved, I won't give them a live scan form. Live scans are pricy and I don't want to waste anyone's time or money. You'll know if and when you are officially approved when we call or email you to proceed with the required training."
I then asked if I were likely to get approved. She said yes as long as your live scan comes back clean and you've disclosed everthing to me. Which seems like you have because you told me of an issue that there was no record of you doing. If we would have found out on our own, you would have been immediately denied for not disclosing. Before calling an applicant, I check their record. " (Had a couple ruin ins with LE when i was 13 and 17.) Also said " the DOJ is taking a long time on the background check and there have been times the applicant's background check was complete and they didn't notify us. After you complete the live scan, email me the ATI # so I can keep track of it."
Stay patient everyone
