Timeline

Alright guys here we go. Full timeline of what I experienced:

3/11 Submitted Application to LASD

3/18 Called by LASD to notify I must go through LAPD first

3/18 Called LAPD to make appointment for interview on June 23rd

4/11 Called by LAPD to let me know they cancelled my interview because of policy change, and since they saw I have an LASD application, I will automatically be processed.

4/21 Called by LASD to schedule interview

4/23 Interview

4/23 Livescan

5/20 Livescan Complete

5/20 Contacted to complete firearms training / Submitted and acknowledged same day. Was notified to wait for call for pickup.

6/1 Called for pickup

6/3 Card in hand, approval letter received in person as well


GC Submitted a mix of Yellow and Light Green GC, but was told they will be focusing on my Yellow GC

Note: They are taking CCW's very seriously, even though they have relaxed GC. I was told to notify Peace Officers I am carrying and to show license, during interactions such as traffic stops. Also, we were asked to NOTIFY the ccw_unit of any and all recorded interactions with Peace Officers, whether it be bad or good, includes everything from traffic stops to self defense; and to describe the events in detail.

ALSO, if you completed your livescan and training in anticipation for your interview, they will be accepted. They cannot officially recommend either due to obvious reasons. Also, please don't submit a livescan/training from like last year.

Thank you everyone, I will be around, such as a few other users that are here to answer questions. The hardest part about this process is the waiting game. Be patient, stay strong, and carry responsibly.

congrats!! drift wood.. just to ad my 2 cents on training.. Some peeps may already be getting great training for some time now.. So spending the minimum would be a benefit to those peeps. I agree though if you are limited in practicing and barely get out to the range for real training, not just standing there and shooting at a non moving paper target, then I'd say spending a bit extra and get some more knowledge.

they received my application april 6th and cashed april 15th. I wonder witch week that puts me in.

So people were called on Tuesday to pick up. Did anyone get a call for the interview? My buddy is dying waiting for the call. My brother is in the same boat. He has not received any calls neither. His app was delivered on the same day April 9th.

I'm wondering if anyone with only light green GC that applied in late March/early April have received phone calls for interviews lately.

@M1abob - definitely puts you in the first week of April.

You'll probably get a call next week.

@kjc - doesn't seem like many calls are going out this week.

From what it looks like applications are screened and reviewed in batches on Monday and the investigating deputy gets handed the batch Monday afternoon and starts making calls throughout the week for interviews.

Since it's Thursday it seems like the action is over for this week.

@syntax - not many people applied with LG GCs early April, we didnt' really find out until mid April and that's when the flood gates opened.

But according to Paladin, it seems like 3 CGN LG GC were accepted, so you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

You're right, and that's 100% true. But thats what was communicated to me, do not send a really old certification for your LASD ccw application. That's all.

Anyone know the 6 digit DOJ billing number? I’m scheduling an appointment for my live scan ahead of the interview and the live scan form provided on the LASD site does not include this.

Edit: just kidding doesn’t look like it’s required for the appointment
