Can you supplement with another 8 hour course or do you have to do a single 16 hour course?
ATF Form 4473: If a frame or receiver can only be made into a long gun (rifle or shotgun), it is still a frame or receiver, not a handgun or long gun.

I can relate to this as we both have already done our course already while still waiting for a damn call. This new stupid bill to fit with their 2024 guideline is a big hammer on everyone one of us to try and disregard or turn away from obtaining the ccw permit. They should really grant/grandfather our 2023 application and guidelines to the 8hour course instead of what is set for 2024, ridiculous.

Each county of course is its own different animal, however, many counties are upholding the 2023 guidelines and laws (2023 training requirements, etc) as long as your application was filed prior to the end of the year 2023. I?m surprised to hear that Los Angeles county is choosing to go on alternate route .

            Legally they cannot.

If you were in the military and discharged, as far as I know you should have a DD-214. So I would say the "if applicable" applies to people who were in the military.

They don't offer CCW renewal classes there? Those are 8 hours.

So in layman's terms they have to abide by the statute that was in place at the time the application was received?

So if your application was received any time on or before 12/31/2023 they must go by those statutes?

Bye. What happens in California does not stay in California. It will spread to whatever state you flee to. The solution is to have more people from free states move here to effect change.

Woo. 4 days short of 3 months after submitting training and I finally got the call. Took the first available date which is in about 2 weeks. 19 months later and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. No more answering spam calls every Thursday to get the call.

Call came in No Caller ID btw.

I would assume so, per the LASD CCW web page ? For applications submitted via Permitium as of January 1, 2024, Senate Bill 2 guidelines will apply. For more information, please visit: Bill Text ? SB-2 Firearms. (ca.gov)? 16 hours of training is part of SB2 guidelines, so it would seem that if you applied before that date you would be exempt and 8 hours would suffice. But is anyone willing to go head to head with the officer processing their application?
