June 23, 2022. SUPREME COURT BRUEN DECISION

A few days after Bruen: Brought application to local LAPD office. They refused to accept it and directed me to the LAPD central gun unit to turn it in. Called the LAPD central gun unit and was informed they were waiting on guidance from the city attorney on ccw applications.

About a week after bruen: LAPD ccw website updated to indicate that applications were not be accepted while awaiting a “new application form” from the state committee that was formed. Told to expect an update in July.

July-Sept comes and goes with no process to apply for a permit in place.

October 2022: LAPD finally updates website with application process established.

Date unknown: Emailed LAPD to request appeal to my previous denial. I received an email response back saying they do not have an appeal process. I requested a new interview.

October 6th, 2022. Received call from LAPD to schedule interview. Interview scheduled for October 10th, 2022.

October 10th, 2022. Interview with LAPD. I immediately drive to livescan vendor and complete the livescan afterward.

October 10th, 2022. CA Livescan complete

October 12th, 2022. Firearms Livescan complete.

October 27th, 2022. FBI Livescan complete.

I received call from LAPD saying that the Livescan was complete, however the vendor sent my results to the County Sheriff instead of LAPD and that they I would have to redo the livescan process because they could not access it and the sheriff would not share it.

November 29th, 2022. Resubmitted Lifescan.

November 11/29/22. CA Livescan complete.

November 12/02/22. Firearms Livescan complete.

Jan 19th 2023. I called LAPD ccw unit and left a message to please call me back. I gave an explanation of my situation.

Date Unknown: LAPD called me to let me know they received my livescan and it is processing.

Feb 10th, 2023. Received call LAPD letting me know to proceed to training.

Feb 14th, 2023. Completed training.

Feb 15th, 2023. Submitted proof of training to LAPD via email.

Feb 28th, 2023. Picked up CCW card from LAPD

251 days after BRUEN decision.
