Just got a phone call today (February 1) from LAPD that the Chief of Police approved my CCW. Meanwhile, I haven't heard anything from LASD from my application submitted in July 2022.

In case you were wondering what the letter looks like from LAPD. I never thought I would see the day that the LAPD and City of Los Angeles would be giving me a CCW. In the meantime, LASD hasn't said anything to me since submitting my application in July 2022.20230205_125511.jpg

Man looking at your timeline you should be pretty darn close for your training email... Just comparing to my timeline a slight delay for yours....

Well I can tell you that sb2 will pass. No doubt about it and it will go into effect end of this year or beginning of next year. By that time many of the jersey, New York, etc laws that have been deemed unconstitutional should have some sort of resolution and that will apply to sb2 as well.

I believe that the fees and the increase training hours will stand but the sensitive places will not.... Unless supreme court comes out with a new opinion letter that is more exact and firm compared to bruen. Bruen left the fees, training, etc up to the states as opposed to "hey here is the federal law"....

Received the call yesterday from a blocked line at around 2pm and my old lady welcomed a beautiful baby boy earlier in the week.

That sucks but congrats. My suggestion is don't take a shower or do anything all week as they don't call just Sundays....guys here have gotten calls all throughout the week

Yup, emailed them twice already. Once in the end of November and again in the first week of January.

I sent an email December 1, 2022 asking for an update. They sent the standard "Your file and live scan returns are pending review, we will contact you once the review is complete". I have not followed up again. I need to call them, if I do not hear anything from them by March 1. That's my plan, no more emails.

Just be patient...there's several advantages to LASD over local PD....if you move to a different city you have to renew in that certain city if you go local PD.....but...with county you can move anywhere as long as you reside in that county ...larger coverage...I know it's taking awhile but patience prevails..
