It must be a complete functioning firearm "and" complete before Dec31, 2016
"While it may come as a surprise to the authors of the legislation, most semi-automatic pistols do in fact come with a pistol grip"
Malthusianism is the idea that population growth is potentially exponential while the growth of the food supply is arithmetical at best.

Librarian, any chance we can get one thread instead of several?

I think disassembled storage when not going to the range is in fact a VERY smart move regardless of whether or not you are complying.

As already been discussed. They can't change the laws as they are written here. If you have an idea feel free to share it.

Any legal scholars want to chime in?
There's a passage that specifically addresses that. Check out (m) under the definitions section. Page 3 of 15.

Exactly how many of the 325,000 that defied Connecticut's registration requirement have been arrested?

"left" being the key word. In other words, you can be in possession of a magnet, you could use as a tool to remove a magazine, but if it is "left" in the firearm is constitutes a detachable magazine.
So if I leave the mag magnet "right" in/on the bullet button this would be OK??? No??

I feel sorry for the millions of AR/AK owners in this State that aren't gun people.

The DOJ has made this extremely difficult when it didn't have to be. And this is why people don't register. But that's probably what they want.

I truly believe they want full compliance. The certainly are confident that Californians are so stupid that they will fall into line and go along with the program with little to no resistance. Most people in California are okay as long as they have Starbucks, Weed and the View on TV.

If it were a fixed mag AW it would not be an AW, yes?

Sorry, I don't understand the post at all.

I would argue profanity is a completely appropriate response for these "regulations." Maybe not written profanity, but it is definitely warranted. The DOJ WAAAAAY overstepped their authority here. And they need to get stomped on for it.

Hasn't this been gone over already? I can make 5 lowers into functioning firearms with one upper. It doesn't say that it has to remain in any certain configuration. One could swap the uppers for each rifle for the purposes of registration.

They are asking for pictures, the same upper used over and over will be kinda obvious. The compliance letter is up to their discretion

The CCR states they can and will ask for additional information
