How can they make these changes a day before the law goes into effect.. that seems nearly criminal..

    Oh wait, they don't care...
You're fine if you register, even under the new regs, as long as it's >26" without the fake can (which it would have to be to be federally legal). Once you're a RAW you can be between 26" and 30" (or longer). The thing they're proposing to change is making the measurement with the "permanent" barrel vs. a removable muzzle device.

What would be prevented would be a featureless setup that is, say, 28" long with a bare muzzle and 32" with a removable fake can. You could pin the muzzle device & stay featureless, or register (or I suppose convert to non semi automatic).

Not entirely certain, but I'm pretty sure that one pertains to Franklin Armory's new compliance device.

So how many pictures of shovels will they receive?

They seemed to include definitions for everything. BS that they want pictures. I'm going with 10meg files to plug their system. They are trying to prevent changing uppers but that isn't in the law. The lower is the "firearm".
On the firing line- depending on the day, determines which side of the line I'm supposed to stand on!

They are trying to force feed as much as they can get away with and as much as we "The people" will tolerate.

              What are they saying?

And what's the take on attaching that magnet button to the BB in light of today's regulations.
I don't understand it either. They are defining a reciever that mechanically is impossible to attach a magazine to as detachable.lol

                Specifically

                f) `Bullet-button" means a product requiring a tool to remove an ammunition feedin device
or magazine by depressing a recessed button or lever shielded by a magazine lock. A bullet-button equipped fully functional semiautomatic firearm does not meet the fixed magazine definition under Penal Code section 30515(b

                Therefore F = M.
Everyone on Calguns keeps talking about TDS. I never knew we had so many fish keepers!

The TDS on my 10gallon tanks 110ppm
The TDS on my 29 gallon tank is 150ppm (due to substrate)

It wouldn't be illegal to use the same supper for 100 different lowers for registration would it?

Like I said, fodder at best, more loopholes at worst.

And for the record, this forum isn't giving them any ideas. The LAWMAKERS or stupid and/or don't care about efficacy. DOJ management knows what's what and what they think they can get away with. Good luck.

Do Featureless Homebuilds Need CA-DOJ IDs

I don't remember from previous research. Will featurless homebuilds that used 80% receivers need to request ca-doj IDs for their rifles?

I'm no lawyer, but as I read it...

"An AR-15 style firearm that has a bullet-button style magazine release with a magnet left on the bullet-button constitutes a detachable magazine."

"left" being the key word. In other words, you can be in possession of a magnet, you could use as a tool to remove a magazine, but if it is "left" in the firearm is constitutes a detachable magazine.

You need enough uppers for all the lowers you intend to register

However, there is nothing to stop you from borrowing a few friends uppers for the photos
"While it may come as a surprise to the authors of the legislation, most semi-automatic pistols do in fact come with a pistol grip"

Re-read the first paragraph of 5471(m) and really think about it. I'm not going to say anything else since the DOJ can't seem to get right and write regs which make any damn sense, and I'm not giving them any ammo. The solution to your question is right there in black and white.
