I honestly do not see it as a witch hunt. Are you saying that the messages OP has received from the seller sound anything close to legit?

Seller is on Calguns at this time...hope something good comes out of it for OP.

Sad that the seller hasn't fixed this considering I PMed him a link to this thread 30 min after it was posted.

      Good luck OP.

I've been on a lot of websites that have classifieds and a lot of them have stickied lists of bad sellers. This goes beyond their feedback score which doesn't always tell the whole story since most people don't leave bad feedback in fear of retaliatory feedback. JaeFern and this transaction would deserve being listed on such a list.

I also like that eBay for example doesn't allow sellers to give buyers negative feedback, and wish something resembling that model could be established here. Obviously this is more work for the moderators but caveat emptor can only take you so far before your website/forum becomes a cesspool of scammers like Craigslist, Armslist etc.

          It's not a lower, bro

Just noticed....JaeFern bought an AR stock from me in 2013.

I think it's more sad the seller will probably establish 100% feedback rating too.

Welp. Completely incommunicado. I sent him a text requesting a tracking number or a refund by the end of the day. We'll see which one I get, if anything.

Arfcom has a thread in the Equipment Exchange that does just that...

                  Link is here... http://www.ar15.com/forums/f_7/109_N...back_ONLY.html

On that page, near the top, also check Equipment Exchange Essentials - READ ME, EE HALL OF SHAME!!! Deal with at your own risk!!!, and FAQs for Posting in the EE Feedback Forum.

A seller or buyer can actually be banned for welching. Imagine that here.

Just saw the stickied thread about AR15 Barrels.com.

I wonder what Arfcomers think of Covered California (Obamacare) running ads on their site?

Man that sucks OP. Hopefully everything works itself out. Maybe the BIL shipped your upper to wrong address and the package is in limbo?

Your story reminds me of something that happened to me on a transaction/trade. So I made a trade with another Calguns member that had the communication of a 2 year old. I send him my item and sent him a PM with the tracking number, a picture of the box contents and tracking number on the box. All I had asked in return was a tracking number and to use the shipping labels that I provided. 2 weeks go by and I have no tracking number or package. I asked numerous time for a tracking number and got no response. It took a PM from a mod to get a response. All he had to say was "I sent it two weeks ago are you sure you didn't get it?". To make a long story short, this individual had his girlfriend ship my item VIA USPS with no tracking. He failed to instruct her to use the provided shipping labels and she sent the package to the wrong address. On the second go around this person still failed to send tracking information even after multiple request. It was like it was a big inconvenience for him to provide a frigging tracking number for a $1000.00 acog.

My bet is, OP will not get the item nor his money back.

Sorry to hear about your plight OP.

Although I've never been scammed on this site, there have been some shady or fishy deals or transactions that I've had to avoid or otherwise sort thru, one way or another. Just remember, trust your Gut Feeling, it is 99.99% right. If something just doesn't feel right, walk away and don't initiate the transaction. In your case, its fair to say you didn't have much opportunity to scan for red flags however, because the seller had previous positive iTrader and most buyers don't have a choice but to send payment up front when buying something that will be shipped to them. Best of luck, unfortunately, CGN and any online community always has its rotten elements.

Since the seller has seen this thread, its not the case, but this reminds me of a good story of why you may not want to jump to conclusions.....

I was a mod on a car forum, and one well established member, bought something from another established member. A thread similar to this was posted buy the buyer saying hey does anyone know so and so in person? I paid for my stuff two weeks ago and he won't respond to my PM's. Mod team trys to get of hold of him, we can't. Nearest person that knew him was a couple hours away. So for two more weeks no one hears nothing.

One night out of the blue the seller is back online. (and here's what makes it a good story for CalGuns) The night the seller got the money from the buyer, he had someone break into his home, and he shot the guy with .410 from a Judge. The burglar was hit in the face and was in a comma. The police put the seller in jail for 40 days until the burglar awoke from the comma and told the police that he was indeed there to hurt the guy.The police and DA, then let him go. Dude shipped out the part the next week, but he lost his job, fell behind on all his bills and really got screwed hard.
