I'll give you dollars to donuts that they don't have this gun. Either they can't find it (lost it), or they have sold it.(ooops! who put that in the display case!)

Assuming that all the OP has posted is true (and I realize that is a bloody big IF), I can't think of any other legitimate/logical reason he doesn't have his gun back yet. Even if these guys were flaming boobs, they would get the thing shipped just to shut this guy up.

I would bet you are not far off. Wish he would name the dealer.

WE WANT NAMES!!!!! Peolpe feel compelled to drop names of resteraunts they get food poisoning from, stores they get crappy service from, and products they are not satisfied with...Having to wait 2mo.s for your firearm is way more important than any of these, 3 common things everyone is sharing on this thread are...This is really messed up that it is happening to you....The whole thing isn't right and bad business...AND WHO IS IT? It would drive me nuts thinking this situation could reoccur if I didn't say anything.

The dealer doesnt own the gun, and never did. He was supposed to be facilitating a transfer.
You are correct. It is wrong and either the dealer is incompetent, the new receiving dealer isn't doing the paperwork correctly, or the OP is doing something wrong. If everything is on the up and up, then there is no telling why the transfer dealer has his head up his rear. However, he does and now we need to find ways to fix it.

I propose offering to give them $20 to do it today. It might not work. Second, I propose calling the local police and filing a stolen property report. Some people here suggest calling the BATFE. Go for it. Let us know how that works out.

sorry it still sounds like you are playing devils defense, the riverside FFL seems to be doing nothing but lying to the op.why does the OP need to bribe repeatly the riverside FFL to get his own shipped back to his home area(some local ffl).??

            -------------------
            to the OP.

try switching local FFL'S to a different FFL,if the B.S. continues then you have a solid case against the riverside douche..

Call ATF and let us know the FFL so we can avoid them.

You propose offering to give them $20? Why let the FFL get a hand out?

Do you truly want this to happen to another CalGunner? I have read your posts, and you make an O.K. argument about the ATF.. however you make a TERRIBLE argument for good business practices for this specific FFL, I am not commenting on your business.

This FFl should be disclosed to us.. generally, people don't want to be treated like this!!

its simiilar to how some landlords will pay deadbeat renters to move out instead of having to deal with the eviction process.

basically, the OP has to decide if it would be worth spending that $20 to get his firearm released ASAP or would he see what CADOJ/ATF/etc can do for him. the latter may take weeks, while the former might be done today.

Well you present a scenerio that can lose a renter a lot of money. I for one have had to hire someone to serve an eviction notice so I know the pain.

It depends on how hurt the OP is for money. If I was in his situation and did not hurt for the money, the principal of the matter would mean much more to me.

                          Don't tread on me.

Just my two cents....It sounds like Centerfire to me. They have that little office in front that gets stuff "locked" in it all the time. JW only has two people working there. The owner and his wife. The OP mentioned too many people for it to be JW.

Does this city just have few FFL dealers? I know Sacramento has many. Some just do it out of their home..
