I tried transferring the money over to my checking, but gpal was experiencing lead time of 3_4 weeks, and it did say"transaction completed", but never made to my checking. Buyer would have requested the money back if the funds DID go through. Again, thanks so much.

Call the ATF. Keep all the emails and grab your phone records and make a list of who you spoke with and when etc. Im willing to bet your gun turns up. Two months? I would of told the guy if that package is not on my doorstep in a day he can talk to the ATF about it and then I would follow up on my threat/promise

Why on earth are you having them ship it to an FFL????

It's your gun. Tell them to ship it right back to you.

That could relieve a lot of this BS.
          Please read the Calguns Wiki
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

I thought that the receiving destination had to be an ffl or a licensed dealer.

You can recieve it back if you are the resgistered owner and ATF certainly needs to be involved no matter how this turns out. I am no fan of the AFT but they do have their moments and uses. The buyer should get his fingers burnt as well as the FFL he used. We have a bad enough time keeping records straight and guns where they belong without someone like this playing games. I took possession of one gun a guy brought all the way to me even though it turned out not to be what I was actually looking for. The dude acted in good faith and the price was more than fair and I was not about to screw this man out gas money, what he thought should have been a sale, and his time doing me the favor by bringing it. I bought that gun with the biggest smile you'll ever see on a face. I figured if a mistake was made it was on my part and I sucked it up. This dude should do the same thing or have AFT living out of his house with a substation in the FFL dealers store.

Might be an ignorant FFL who doesn't know they can ship directly to a person.

                  --------
                  OP, what a nightmare.

Hope you learned the lesson. If you're the seller, never ship first.

What an assclown bueyer, what a flake I hope you gave him a negative feedback. Hope you get your gun back.

Call the store and inform them that you will be contacting the ATF and possibly Riverside PD or Sheriff. He needs to ship the gun directly to you within a week. Record ALL interactions that you have with the FFL.

Wow, that's some ordeal you've been through and still nothing to show for it. Which Riverside FFL is this?

                          Actually, no he can't.

IF the gun was sent to an FFL for =repair=, it can be returned directly to the owner.

That is not the case here.

If that gun is on the FFL's books, there are only 4 ways it can legally come off:
                          1) Sent to another FFL
                          2) 4473 with a valid NICS check
                          3) reported stolen
                          4) reported destroyed

Even guns given to an FFL to be sold on consignment must go through that process. If unsold or withdrawn from sale, a 4473 and NICS check must be completed to return the gun to the owner.

                            Who is the FFL???

Please let those of us who live in Riverside area know who this is so we don't do business with him. As has been offered in the above posts, you've got several guys in this area who will gladly stop by and see if we can't get things moving along for you. Let us know how we can help. I also agree with all the posts to contact ATF. These are the types of FFL dealers we really don't need around. Let me know if I can help from Riverside.
