I am so sorry for this my friend. What a nighmere! What they are doing is completely criminal. Thou shalt not bear false witness(lie). God gave us 10 rules to follow, and they obously dont honor that. I personaly would get the ATF involved, as this weapon is still registered to you and (i think) you are liable for it. Kindly let us all know what FFL is giving you these problems so we can not get stuck in the same predicament. Cheers, and let us know how it all works out!

Which FFL was it in Riverside. That is WAY too long to be waiting. The person who wanted the gun sent and then backed out should be forced to pay for shipping both ways.

Call the ATF. You're being played for a sucker. For all you know, he already sold your firearm to someone else. He has put you through his little game several times and does not deserve more chances.

Just FYI he can legally ship the handgun directly to you since you're the owner and you don't have to go through DROS. But I can see how a dealer might be skittish about this and prefer to send it to another dealer. ETA: This is incorrect per some later posts.

Btw for future reference when selling a firearm get the money first, THEN you ship it.

I know it does not help you now but, Why did you not get payment from the buyer BEFORE you shipped it out?

I would never ship without getting money FIRST!! And I have always paid before guns have been shipped to me.

holy hell, you're a patient man! this riverside ffl sounds about as reliable as your potential buyer.
if your buyer is a calgunner/ do us all a favor and leave him a negative Itrader rating. even if i had a change of heart, i'd honor the deal and man up with the $$$.

drive down and get it. 400 miles isn't so far.

I had similar problem a few years ago with a seller up in ND who got my money for his Gap Letter IHC Garand, but I didn't get the gun. His excuse/explanation was that his FFL had sent it to the wrong on on the east coast.
Since I used a Postal Money order I contacted the Postmaster who said they wouldn't get involved. I then called the ATV who also said they wouldn't get involved.
I finally called the local LEA in his town, and a week later I had a persoanl check from his(the seller's brother). Once the check cleared, I called off the case with the LEA.

Call someone, and I would start with the ATF, then Riverside PD. I would NOT tell the dealer what I was doing, let the ATF inspect him and his books. It might scare him enough to really straighten up.

I would have called ATF the instant the LEO told you about that option. No more games. Return the gun or pay me F*ers! I would like to know what FFL so I can make sure I don't get caught up in that mess.
With all this "gun control" talk, I've not heard one politician say how they plan on taking guns from criminals, just law abiding Citizens.

Should have made it clear that money arrived in my gpal but not my checking. I guess after making his faithful decision to Flake, he canceled the payment. I just tried connecting to the ATF, but its no longer in service, but going to look again after I get off work. Much thanks to those who replied.
