We are not being "un-cool" The three of us have opposing view points. I have merely illustrated mine with historical factual encounters both in the general public [as seen by all], and between we three on these forums.

I am anonymous and want to keep it that way. They are both public entities. I am allowed to criticize them and they are allowed to defend themselves. All three of us are on-topic as it relates to this OP.

I am sorry its uncomfortable to others reading this...but grown men argue..not everyone gets along, holds hands and sings Kum-bay-ya on public forums.

Update from a third party...

I've been PM ing Lawrence about his problem getting the P2000 HK .40 back to his San Francisco FFL.

Here's what I have as of now: TODAY at 5 PM

I called the Riverside FFL and talked to the owner; he insists the weapon was sent to the San Francisco FFL 'Last Week'. Stating he didn't have the CDFL number required to mail the weapon.

I then called the receiving FFL in San Franciso and a nice lady checked her computer log all the way back for 6 months and has NEVER received any gun at any time from this Riverside FFL. She said she has sent their FFL (with the CDFL number on the corner) to the Riverside FFL a couple of times weeks ago.

I supplied the San Franciso FFL (a nice bunch of people) with the Riverside FFLs FAX number and asked her if she would once again FAX the copy of their FFL to the Riverside FFL. She agreed; she called the Riverside FFL and obtained the FAX number and FAXED the paper to Riverside. She called me back and confirmed it went thru. Nice people.

I said Thank you; I then called the Riverside FFL and the 'owner' was not available; but another man did mention he had received the FAX but he also insisted that the Weapon was mailed last week.

I asked for the CONFIRMATION NUMBER (on a Priority Mail Package) and he said the number was in the OWNERS CAR....who just left; but will be back tomorrow at 10PM...to call back for that number...

I am reminded of Lawrences original post when he also called (after paying for shipping) that the Riverside FFL said the confirmation number was locked in the Owners office...

More excuses.......I am beginnng to wonder about this Riverside FFL.

More info tomorrow after I contact them to get the tracking number.

PS..The San Francisco FFL didn't ship the weapon ever. Lawrence sent it via UPS to the Riverside FFL directly.

The FFL in question in Riverside has already had one ffl pulled under another individuals name due to bad record keeping. They may have shipped the gun but have no clue where they sent it to. File a lost in transit report with the atf and let them know it went missing between the Riverside FFL and the Sacramento FFL. Tell the ATF they have to contact the Riverside FFL for the tracking number.

I don't think his last response was directed to me even though I was quoted. I do believe he is arguing with Ron-Solo and using me as evidence.

I also think he has lost touch with what this thread is about. It seems his post is more of a critique of law enforcement in general than trying to get the OP his gun back.

Everything I have posted has revolved around the OP getting his gun back.

So now what do we do now that the FFL is claiming they shipped the gun. The Riverside FFL is responsible for it (that is why they should have been paid for their time, but that is on them for not asking for more than $30). If it doesn't turn up at the receiving FFL, then they are going to have to report it lost with the ATF and in my opinion they will need to replace the item.

Now can they drag their feet forever? Yes. Here's hoping the gun shows up at the SF FFL, but it is probably unlikely.

If I were the OP I would ask that you get a copy of the lost firearm report and then you are going to want to report it lost to the CA DOJ too since your name is on it. The good news is there is going to be some pressure on the Riverside FFL now because loosing guns is not smiled upon by the ATF and it is going to flag that serial number if it gets DROSed again.

That pressure might mysteriously get the firearm to surface.
