I don't know why everyone keeps holding it against the LGS when it is the state that is the one making it more and more difficult to buy a gun.

We hold LGS responsible for THEIR OWN ACTIONS.

Yes, the state makes buying and owning firearms difficult. But when a LGS assists the state by making "EXTRA LEGAL" policy requirements which exceed those already imposed by the state. Totally of their own volition, without any state law requiring them to do so. That is not in the best interest of the customer or the LGS. Because customers can and will vote with their wallets to not support such A-holes that go out of their way to make buying firearms even more onerous.

Customers who buy guns believe in 2A. They will or should support LGS that make the process as smooth as possible.

I'm not endorsing their behavior. It sucks. But I can't blame them either.

Plenty of other places to go that don't do that some even allow aluminum and steel cases. I remember when Insights tried that policy it didn't go well for them.

Just like with PPT, choose carefully before going to a range.

If your in o.c riflegear is the best place to ppt.super friendly staff and you'll be out the door in 10-15 minutes or so. If your in San Diego area gun fighter tactical is your best choice.

Ammo Bro in Perris is GTG. Have ppt d several guns there never an issue. No long wait and friendly service. Have also used Riverside without any issues, a little busier but no issues.

BTW many police,sheriff stations give away free locks, just ask at the counter.

years ago, I had the Ammo Bros Cerritos refuse my police issued "child proof safety lock" and made me buy one of theirs...that was the last time I've stepped into an AB.

I've done a few recent PPT's at AB in Santa Ana and they all went pretty smooth. On two PPT's, the factory gun locks were used with no questions asked. On another PPT, I supplied the lock for buyer which was opened and they checked the gun lock paperwork inside (no issues and they did not ask for a receipt). The folks that I've dealt with at the Santa Ana store have always been professional and friendly.

Do you work there or have some sort of connection to them? Or do they give you a discount because of your ex LE status? Seems I struck a nerve.

Regardless of what I call it it is a lame policy that almost no other range has and yes myself and others choose not to shoot there due to his greed and short-sightedness.

As for steel cases let your buddy know there is a magical device called a magnet he can use to sort it out of the brass.
