Aww! Keep the tOmmy gun -- you'll miss it -- believe me -- Get a beater 10-22 with an alright receiver and build a whole 'nother rifle!

The Fungun has cool factor, but I just don't enjoy shooting it and neither does my boy. Time to move on to something I will enjoy shooting and a rifle with which my son can learn some more. Up for grabs!

I got out this morning and shot one of each scoped target. In the last few months I have spent a little time working on the bedding, but have yet to see any positive results. I only had about 20 rounds of the 20gr ammunition and about 10 rounds of the 17 so it was just enough for sighting in and shooting a target. I left myself plenty of room for improvement! haha

iLawson: Nice shooting. Too bad .17HMR shooters have a 25 point reduction in their score on each target due to the inherent accuracy of that ammo. Just kidding. With a little more practice I think you are in the competition for best shooter.

Move that 100yd group up a little and that's in there with the best of em. What rifle and scope are you using? Good luck on your next shoot. Hope I don't have to go out and buy a .17HMR just to stay competitive.

Wow ilawson!!! Solid shooting. Thank god for small bullets. Gives me a slight edge when I shoot this weekend.

I hope this forces EVERYONE to have to go out and pick up a .17. THey're too much fun! I'm shooting a cz453 varmint with a Nikon 4-16x monarch scope. It's a sweet little gun that I've been tinkering with all winter. I devised a little tuner this afternoon that I need to do some more experimenting with. Preliminary results were shocking to say the least. This guns used to HATE (1" plus 50 yard groups) 17gr FMJ ammunition from CCI, but with the tuner I shot two consecutive 3/8" groups at 50 yards. Don't worry though, I won't be using it for our friendly little matches. It'll be my secret weapon when someone starts talkin money!

Ok went shooting at ASR yesterday (1/2 price on Thurdays!) so I could get some good dope on my new rifles and decided since I was there I would shoot the MRM targets just because. Now I wasnt trying to hard that day because getting the dope was priority but overall not too shabby. BTW thru irons some of these targets looked like pinheads DHW.

Score 114 and 103. Not enough to beat ilawson but the month isnt over.

I think im going to order some true match ammo because considering what I was using and my scores I now know with the right ammo my rifles should be lazers.

                                Please elaborate! Some?
                                One? Both? All three?
What is the minimum size outer diameter irons targets for the distances that would be visible to you for a decent sight picture? Is the 25yd, 50 yd, 100yd too small? Should the outer diameter be bigger? Your insight would be helpful!
