FWIW, a quick check using AmmoSeek.com shows Natchez has Federal Champion Target .22 LR 40 gr SLD Rimfire Ammunition for $2.79 for 50 rds. That's roughly $05.5/rd. Be aware, however, that when shipping gets factored in, it goes to about $.09/rd.

Yup. The only number that counts is cost per round delivered, IMHO.

Holy crap..... Went into my local Walmart today on a whim and found 525 round Remington Golden bullet boxes by the ton (I could only buy 3)... The time was 10.30 AM nobody waiting in line... I think I bought the first 3 out of the case.
This is the first time in 2 years that I have actually bought .22 in a Walmart.
Although getting Remington is not like buying CCI, but for plinking....at around 6 cents a round (rounded up) its a great buy.
Does this mean the craze has ended...or did I just get lucky before gougers and hoarders got to it...
What has the landscape been like around your parts?
NOW I can go plinking with no guilt of using my older .22.
Looking forward to shooting my Walther, Ruger, and CALICO...........

Was this the hb walmart. I came in at around 1130 and after I bought 3 boxes they still had 4 left.

At this point in time, there about 890,000 rds of 22lr available at Freedom, no limit. Not sure how Super CI will run, but it's very available for about $0.10/rd.

I was at my local Wally World this morning for an A/C thermostat and decided to walk to the ammo case for a look. I haven't seen .22lr for a couple of months on the shelf. To my surprise as my eyes lit up when I saw 12 boxes of Remington 525 counts, $27 per box. I was in shock when two guys in front of me were not there for the same thing. Lady at the counter said they just put it out. I quickly snatched up my limit of 3 boxes. What a great morning!!

They had 2 Remington m-22 1000 packs at the Torrance WM today at noon. Never saw any 22 there before. $111.00 out the door for 2000 rounds.

I have been really seeing a lot of 22 come back on the shelf's at my LGS and since Walmart pulled the ammo information off their site it has rendered the Brass Badger app and Website useless. Since the ammo flippers don't have an easy way to find out what the local Walmart has coming in stock they don't show up with their family members and stand in line for hours anymore to buy all the 22 off the shelf's. Since I am up bright and early to take my kids to school I call my local Walmart now a days and see if they got any 22 on the load. Last week I picked up 2000 rounds of Winchester M-22 for just over $100 and I have about another 1000 rounds of the CCI stuff in the safe. So I am good for now until the local BLM opens back up and I take my daughter out shooting again!!!! She loves shooting the 10/22.

The best news is all those flippers trying to unload there ammo.

I was actually surprised to see a full rack of 22lr at Big 5 in Downey. To my suprise it was aguila and I personally like that stuff.
