Are you sure it is 2000 rounds? that is just over 2 1/2 cents per round.

That was a typo. 1000 rounds, two 500 round boxes inside.

Well I'm about to buy my first .22lr rifle (which is going to be my first firearm in general yay). Do you really save money buying at a brick and mortar store? If you do is it worth the hassle? I want to start shooting as much as I can as soon as possible.

Which rifle would that be? Do a quick search for online vendors, then compare prices (including shipping) with nearby shops.

Buying a Marlin 795. Most places online seem to be $50 and above (the cheapest seem to be imports) for 500. Judging from people's post you can get American brands for a bit higher.

Best .22 ammo are imports, if you can buy it cheap, you should.

22 is too hi most of the time (if there at all) I see it, and when it's a fair $$ it's OOS in minutes.

Forget WM, the same people (flippers/hoarders) are still getting it before you can.

I'm told by the employees the the same people (like in times passed) show up when it's in stock.

Geeze... All these prices gives me a head ache. Back when a kid working in a sporting goods store, a brick of LR (500) retailed for $10 bucks. $8.95 on sale.. Those were the days.... :-) But then when you think about it... What's happened to the buying power of the dollar the last 65 years?? Might be cheaper today in comparison??

Gander still has Automatch for $25 shipped free - you can get two per order.

.076 or whatever per round for that stuff doesn't sound good to me, but if you like it...

I probably won't buy anything except Mini-mags online or GB's from Walmart if they come up. Cabelas will sell you 100 mini-mag solids right now - might as well add them if you are buying something else.
