Anyone know the value of a Mint Marlin 336CA? I can find the CA model anywhere to compare.

never heard of a CA suffix. that model is mentioned in a couple of threads on MarlinOwners very briefly

might try posting your question there. as for value, probably same as other comparable models of same caliber, length, finish, features, age, condition, etc. not likely anything uniquely collectible based on almost complete absence of search results. something rare of premium value would be easily found in collector discussions

here's a good list of 336 models with descriptions

MODEL 336 COWBOY - .30-30 Win. (disc. 2001) or .38-55 WCF cal., 8 shot tube mag., squared off finger lever, 24 in. tapered octagon barrel with deep cut Ballard-type rifling (6 grooves), cut checkered (disc. 2001) straight grip walnut stock and forearm, adj. Marbles semi-buckhorn rear and carbine...
I started out with nothing - and I still have most of it

Penn - The site seems to be doing better. If you can't get on, try again in half an hour.

It's definitely WAY better than it was for the last year. I still have a lot of misses but far more hits. It's not positive for long term, but for now at least, we still have it!

I blew the motor up in my old hot rod so funds and time are going to go towards getting it on the road again (with a new 512 to replace the measly old 440-6) in time for spring and summer cruises and show season. Not much shooting lately by me. :/

Hey, it was running right on par with a stock 440-6 setup from 1971 when I found magic sparkles in the oil. Replace and upgrade, right? Picked up a new-to-me 440 block and going to stroke it out to a 512. Easy "cheap" torque. And only need to sell a few rifles to fund it. ...it did put the Barracuda project on the backburner though, that one will have to stay under tarp for the foreseeable future instead of getting built out this spring and summer like I'd planned. The Challenger comes first.

Speaking of which, anyone looking for a pristine bicentennial Ruger Carbine in 44 mag, an SMLE MkV, a bicentennial Ruger M77 in 30-06, or any one of a bunch of Mosins? That should get me well on my way to being back on the road. I may even sell a lever gun or three!

I have kept my fingers crossed that this place would recover.

Been a while since I last checked in. I hope everyone is doing well.

Beautiful guns there, Dave! Looks like a fun day!

Is Chris (200 Apples) still around? I haven't seen him post here at CG for quite some time. Did he go over to CaGuns?

                              Be safe out there!
