Mr Stater has asked me to post up some pics from Yellowstone.....

Where do they put these animals at night?

Still a bunch of snow. Is that the back side of the Tetons looking from Idaho? I don't know
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Winchester 1894 Rifle in 32W.S. followed me home a week ago. Built in the mid 30's, so a newer gun. Only rifle missing in my collection is a 32-40, and the only carbines are the 32-40 and the 38-55. Been looking hard for carbine in 38-55, but all the ones I see are either roached or out of my price range.

Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

Pretty sure we were around the Madison area, where the Madison River/Gibbon River hook up. Heading back towards West Yellowstone. What a drive I never get tired of.

Thanks Mark. I'll call ya later today.

It is a Marbles, but a new one. I will be replacing it with a vintage Lyman when I get a chance. It is a pretty rifle though , with nice original finish, bright bore, unbuggered screws, and tight wood to metal fitment. An unmolested and clean example, albeit in a less desirable chambering.

Today is Range Day, so I'll see how it shoots.

Horsewright, no, missed all that by about four days. Would not want to be part of that. Got lucky, not so much for people still stuck there. What a mess.

I posted this in the FNRA section, as well - a few of the MLC have been to the grounds and can vouch for how nice they are. Since then, we have fenced and gated the entire grounds as well, even though the only issues we have ever had have been nighttime break-ins at our trailer yard. For the first time in over 15 years, I won't be there as my wife and brother organized a family reunion over a year ago and scheduled it for this weekend.

This is not the political arm of the NRA and most of the money goes to grants to local clubs and ranges for various shooting and instructional programs like the Boy Scouts, 4H, etc.

The Compton Hunting and Fishing Club will be hosting its FNRA Dinner on Saturday June 18 at its private gated grounds at 1625 Sportsman Drive, Compton. Yeah - we hear about the problem with it being in Compton but it is a well-hidden gem. Ask anyone who had been to our clubhouse and the couple acre of grounds, and they will tell you what a great place it is. We are barely into Compton, and our north property line is the line between Long Beach and Compton with the 710 freeway as our west boundary.

Now that the above has been said, we are one of the highest net to gross profit dinners in the whole country. Since the club donates the food and location, more money is spent on guns and other prizes! Not to mention it is a boatload of fun. Games, raffles and a great smoked tri-tip dinner, with au gratin potatoes, smoked baked beans, a massive salad bar, rolls, etc.

See the attached flyer and contact Frank McEnulty at 310-508-9398 or femcenulty@gmail.com for any questions.

Is there a fish fry date yet so I can calendar it?

The Fish Fry is on July 16th. I will find a flyer and post it. I will be in the kitchen as usual, prepping fish. We usually serve about 1000 pounds of fish.

Took it out yesterday, and fired 6 rounds. It was ringing the 8 inch plate at 100 yards, off-hand. The rifle is a shooter - too bad I didn't draw any Wyoming tags this year, it would have been fun to hunt the river bottom for whitetail with this rifle.

Maybe I'll take it out for Mule Deer this fall, if I draw a doe tag.
