    1) Rossi is a 24" SS .357. It would not cycle the long .357 rounds. It also had some tool marks on the top of the barrel. This was my first lever guns, if fact it was the first gun I purchased in 15 years. I sent it back to Braztec and they managed to fix without making a mess.

    2) a new 44m carbine with a 16 barrel. It cycled beautiful but I couldn't hit a basket ball at 25 yards. It was all over the place and I didn't reload at the time.

    3) 20" short rifle in .357. Its really a beautiful gun for a Rossi. Not one single problem other than the mag tube. It had to have been pounded in with a mallet. I can't remove it. Its a good shooter and I hope I'll never need to remove it.

    4) 20" blued finish .357 which is very beautiful. Rossi really does a good job bluing guns. The sight are both canted to the left. I don't know a thing about assembling the barrel to the reciever. It's like the barrel was screwed in just a little too much. It cycle great and is a very accurate gun. I inspected it and shot it 3x before I noticed the barrel problem. That one is on me.

    5) Same gun as #4 except in 44mag. I can hit a basket ball at 25 yards with this one, most of the time. I think the barrel is a little oversized. I believe the best this to do is to slug the barrel and see what I have.

IMO, Rossi really does a good job with the blueing. I just happened to get 5 guns that need/ needed some work.

Oh yea, You'd think I would have learned and not buy 5 of them. I was hoping they would have put out a better product from the new manufacturing plant. So yes, I'm crazy

It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Splithoof, Spyder, Apples, Pen, and others. Regarding gun #4 . What would be the fix on this one. I assume these barrels are screwed on to the receiver?

This kind of thing is way out of my leauge. It shoots so good I'm think I'll just leave it alone...

Thanks guys, enjoy the rest of your day.

FWIW, I'm liking this one .

And I fully expect Ruger to do the name of the original Marlin Co. firearms, not what they had become after corporate raiders had had their way with the company and creating some not inconsiderable demoralization of the Marlin Co. workforce, proud.

I expect little else from Ruger.

Or, in the absence of that, just enjoy shooting it if if shoots well.

^^^^Thank you for that Apples; I sincerely do not wish to come off as some type of gun snob, and certainly realize that many good folks can’t afford to throw $$$ towards every gun they own, but I do think that many hard working folks are being shortchanged in regards to new firearms. That shouldn’t be the case, as everyone deserves to receive value for their hard earned money. Many here who appreciate things that are of quality might agree. In the end, those companies who deliver will survive, and those who can’t will go away.
BTW, your Marlin that you have carefully corrected is one very nice rifle. If Ruger ends up making those of quality, I’ll buy one for my son for sure!

Wonderful Savage. Those older 99s are just svelte!

That is the nicest stock shape/proportion on a Savage I've ever seen. And chambered in the then-brand-new (by one year or so) .308 Winchester! Outstanding.

                                In other news...

So, I seem to have sorted out, rather, updated, my digital hardware interface with the rest of cyberspace, and now I can upload/download photos from my phone and email. I had kept a firm grip on Windows7 for a few months too long.

And, with that, our MLC co-founder Tom/pennstater has sent me a few photos of some of his collection as he remains, as I am still to some degree, partially digitally challenged. We will endeavor with him to eliminate this handicap.
