forgot all about this fun little toy.. and yes indeed the characters do not have to be connected as I was corrected earlier.. anyways, a miniature brand that was fun

ETA: picture borrowed from fleabay.. the one we played with was owned by a friend who has since passed..

Preston, that is outstanding. A solid contender. Well done!

That one looks good. Are you planning on filing for it?

If you do file you need to submit three possibilities. You may or may not get one of the three. You may get something that the state decides on. You also have to request a location on the critter for the brand. The determining factor in their decision will be how close somebody else is in miles to your brand and it’s location.

When I was looking into designing our own brand, the requirement was a minimum of only one design submitted, although up to three could be listed, as is currently the practice. Yes, the state could choose one of your three, or they could also decline all.
Being that the fee is currently $70/year, unless you are going to really use it, it is a bit much, IMO. Other states are a bit cheaper, but may require an address in that locale where cattle, etc. are kept. There is some variation.

Nah. First we're going to vote for one, second, MojavePete/gratefuldog has offered to bend up a brandin' iron. I'm inclined to use his as it's very close to Preston's and Pete's was first.

Too, there are other designs that folks need to see again like Randall's version.

So we'll gather 'em up into one post and vote on it later in the week. Whether or not we register it remains to be seen since we're not actually in the cattle biz. Let's discuss it a bit more?

                  Thanks everyone.

So who's going to man up and take the first brand over the heart, I mean buttstock.
I've got one or two Rossi buttstocks to brand.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

I just looked at a nice 20" Rossi in 45lc on GB. I hate to recommend Rossi's but I like the wood on this one.17 bids and it's up to $465.00
This might be a good buy for somebody looking for a 92 in 45lc.

I have 2 Rossi 92s. One pre-safety in .45 Colt and one newer model in .44 Mag. They have both operated fine - the only issue is the somewhat sharp edge inside the loading gate, which is easily corrected.

I've got a 20" stainless 357 that is a sweet shooter. Looks good, feels good, carries good. I agree about the sharp edges being the only negative, and that is easily remedied.
