2nd pic: '84 Mod 94 in .30-30, '54 Marlin 39A and my Springfield mil-spec .45 auto.
The .45 auto is in memory of Deuce. He liked his 1911's.

Thanks Mark. Like that 'ol 39, it's a shooter. I hope you can find one at a reasonable price. Any gun/rifle nowadays are going for insane prices. If I see something within reason, I'll let you know. Sometimes that damn blind squirrel finds that acorn.

If I haven't done so before I need to brag a bit on my 39A.

I bought this new in 1977 for $127.00. Shot this for years plinking and hunting ground squirrels, rabbits, etc.

A few years ago I decided to give it a complete makeover. I contacted a local gunsmith that specialized in stock and action makeovers and had him do his thing. My 39A had a maple stock with no checkering (rather plain) and I wanted him to fit a checkered walnut stock and have all of the steel parts polished and deep blued. He fitted with perfection and hand polished a checkered walnut stock.

Before this, I had taken the lever and trigger and softened the sharp edges (with great difficulty, they are hard as a rock). I had the trigger plated with 24 karat gold after my smoothing work. The outfit that did the polishing and re-bluing discovered that the fore end cap was out of brass and polished it as well. I slicked up the action and finished the job myself. This picture tells the story.

Chris, I've gutted my safe, guns in socks and I'm still out of room. It's a nice gun but I got nowhere to put it, plus we need a new dishwasher. I'd be up s***screek if I got another gun before the DW.
