      Hw,
Did they get the fires under control? Your son's ranch safe now?

Yes sir, its out. Been using a helicopter to find some of the last scattered steers and bring em in the last few days. The Fire dept downgraded their size from their original 4,000 acres burnt to 2,900.

Thanks be! Seems almost like every fire they get better and better at working it. However the perfect storm will appear some way. Dang, those guys earn every dime.

              That sounds terribly efficient!

I take it you're in radio contact with the spotter in that there whirlybird? Or are you the pilot/spotter?

              Such intrigue!

Nah those things fall down. My only experience with em is long lining out of them. My son's boss is up with the pilot and they find the cattle is some deep overgrown canyon and text Logan my son. He's standing by with his pony in the trailer, in an area where he has service to receive the text and then he'll drive to the closest place he can and jump the pony out and gather the cattle and knock em down the hill to where they are suppose to be. It worked. All 400 yearling steers were gathered and shipped to their other ranch about 45 minutes away. With out the copter ya'd wear out a lot of horse flesh and dogs just finding em, let alone cowboys. You'd really need 5 or 6 really handy guys to gather that area. They want to save the feed they do have left for the winter time when Logan will winter over 800 momma cows there. The cattle get down in some of those canyons and they go pretty wild. Neighbors just brought one of my heifers back. She'd been over on their place for about a year and she'd gone pretty dang feral. When they were loading her to bring her back put the neighbor's wife, Angie up on the fence a couple of times. Angie asked me to choke (rope) the heifer a little bit. Said she need some"air depravation therapy." Had a bull once that needed quite a bit of choking when I first got him. He'd been running wild for his whole life. But he was a good bull and the price was right. Turned him into a gentleman. Liked that bull after that his name was Little Joe.

Hope all y’all are doing well -

Just a heads up the place that apples got his .375 just got in a bunch of old c&r Milsurps and old bolt actions (rem 600s and a 700, some M14 pattern rifles, a Winchester garand, etc) - also noticed a Winchester box with a Winchester 94ae that looks almost new...think the tag said 800...

If it was in any other caliber than 30-30 I’d have thought about using my last token on it...

Also I’m sad to say that I have yet to shoot the 336sc I got months ago.

                    Turning East ...

Need some help from my MLC mentors. Was to pick up my Rossi R92 on 7/9. I really wanted SS. Temp "out of stock" so I ordered the black. Just for giggles I put in to be notified if the SS became available. A week later ... All together now ... " The email arrived back in stock ... Of course. So I promptly ordered the SS and attempted to cancel the black gun order. I then got a notice the black gun was in the Visalia Sportsman's Warehouse store ready for pick up. This was on 6/23. The SS one still isn't and they can't tell me when it will. I'll be in Visalia tomorrow.

Question is ... Wait out the SS order or close on the black gun. I'm leaning towards closing on the black gun tomorow. What say you?

Tom, I don't recall the Duke or Lucas carrying a SS lever gun...
The standard Calguns response would be Get Both..
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

                        A. I knew the first response would be you. Ha
                        B. I knew, like Karnac, the answer.

So I guess now the diemma shifts to how to sneak the bank by the family CFO.

BTW, Duke, Lucas ref duly noted. They, however, did not live within rock chucking distance of the Pacific Rust Generator.

Ohh, the family CFO! Ahh, the heck with it. Buy 'em both if possible. If not, get the blued one. Gotta scratch that itch, you know.

Well, if you can only get one don't let us decide. If you really want SS then go SS. I had the Blued Rossi teasing me for months on RifleGear until i found out about Gunbroker and my wife ended up surprising me with one for Father's Day. There are always brand new SS Rossi 92s on there.

So I have two blued Rossi's, one Case Hardened and 1 SS. The two blued guns are as good or better then my Winchesters, Marlins, Rugers or any other blued guns I have. If there's one thing that Rossi does right, its bluing. Now the SS Rossi I have is just okay. It's a good shooter and cycles ammo with the best of them but the SS is just ugly...
