I tried four times today to log on, here. This is the fourth attempt.

I might have to throw that tantrum whilst throwing lead slugs from my new coach gun. Blow stuff up. Pick up is the middle of next week.

Meanwhile I'm reading all the SASS fixes for what might ail these things.

Chris - I have a Chinese clone of a Win Model 97 pump riot gun. It slam fires if you hold the trigger back and work the slide hard and fast. Loads of fun!

Here it is. My bedside companion, loaded with #4 Buck...I know some prefer 00, but I have 27 (standard load) or 34 (2.75" mag) pellets of .24". The furthest distance in my house is about 25 feet. It will be devastating enough, believe me, with less overpenetration of walls..

Prior to the advent of the low recoil double ought buck rounds, many law enforcement agencies carried #4s. It was effective. I have the same loaded in a lil zombie gun over and under with rifle sights. I have absouletey no doubt on its effectiveness. I went out and blasted a sheet of plywood at hallway distances. Plywood no mas!

I'm saddened by the downward spiral of CG. I hope it recovers and that I get to make a mojave shoot with you fine gentlemen some day.

Those low recoil buckshot rounds are terrible. I've had them fail to penetrate numerous times when trying to shoot deer that have been mangled by a car. At 3 yards away, failure to penetrate a skull or go through a rib and puncture heart/lung is not uncommon. After the first couple of failures, I did some carcass testing and they're abysmal. I quit using them for anything but training.

What brand, load (weight, or pellet count [8 or 9]) and SPEED were those things? That's a disappointing report!

Like HW, I've blasted inanimate objects using LE double-aught (12 ga, 9 pellet, 1100fps) and done some damage. We will test again, and perhaps using skeletal components. Good grief. And living bone should prove tougher than dead, dry bone, so there's that to consider, too.

Your post is illuminating, Sir Spyder of the North.

Well, I picked up my new-to-me Model 29-4 yesterday. I really have to get to the range or out to the desert this week

Last night's CRPA dinner was a success - we had around 100 people there. I was too busy in the kitchen to get the real headcount. Everyone loved the food. I hope we raised a good chunk of change for the CRPA. It was was a long day, as I left Apple Valley a bit after 4 AM to cook breakfast at the club for the workparty. Then started on prep for the CRPA dinner. I left the club about 9:45 PM, one tired puppy.

I guess I should have been more specific! I believe it was these: Winchester Ranger 12 Gauge 2 3/4" 00 Buckshot 8 Pellets - Ammo Deals (targetsportsusa.com)
I've still got some I'll check and report back when I remember.

^ ^ ^ Thank you for getting back to us. Again, your results are definitely thought provoking.

Good to hear, Rick. Glad it went well. That's a long day.

And then you DROVE for another 1.5 hours (at least)?. You need a little sleeper trailer! lmao. *grin*

I pick up my new coach gun tomorrow! Can't wait. I can already tell it's gonna be my new favorite firearm (just like almost every other acquisition in my humble armory).

The CRPA dinner we held raised over $50,000 for them! We had about 100 people attend. Apparently, though, someone brought COVID along with them as at least 4 of us who worked the event are now down with it. I am over the hump with it and feeling slightly better.
