My stainless Rossi M92 20" in 357 is great fun. I shoot it most times I go out.

Pennstater, not really. I rarely check in anymore since Kestrel doesn't seem very interested in actually fixing it. Makes me sad as this was once a great place.

My next project, after the last two crazy weeks of October (great hunting trips with big bucks and elk down for the first half!) is tinkering with some 454 Casull loads.

^ Do you have a long gun chambered in .45/.454? or just a handheld whirlinpopper.

My tiny camper trailer's tow vehicle, my F150, goes into the gear shop tomorrow for a ring-and-pinion swap! and to add an EATON Detroit Truetrac helical-gear-type limited slip.

I am going to be able to dig TWO holes! now, instead of one. Just kidding. Before we bury the axle we stop, air down and then back out. Never got stuck driving in and out of my Mojave shootin' spots, before. This will be even better.

Two holes are better than one!

I've got an older R92 in 454 picked up many years ago. Don't know that I even want a whirlinpopper in that one, I flinch bad enough with heavy 45 Colt.

Yah, Spyder, I can understand that.

cheeezisss... I have not been able to log on here in calguns since my last post! and it ain't for lack of tryin'! What. gives. Come on, man!

Got my truck back yesterday and the job went well. No noise, smooth, quiet... the 5.0 Coyote engine's exhaust system and aggressive (for an all-terrain tire, that is) tread pattern make more noises, yet a ride on the interstate remains a relatively luxurious proposition, considering this is a slightly-beefed 1/2 ton pickem-up truck (I say, "interstate" but during this 500 mile ring-and-pinion break in period I am avoiding any high-speed travel, opting instead for sub-55 MPH surface streets short runs).

Got the speedo dialed in using a consumer interface that can access certain vehicle PCM modules to make adjustments within certain parameters... with the help of a friend living in America's Hat, I learned how to make these adjustments digitally as a service tech might but in the quiet of my own driveway before a drive test measurement lo0p. I didn't know how to do any of this stuff two weeks ago. Holy smokes. I still don't, but apparently I pulled it off.

Now! The weather is turning favorable for high desert habitation. Let's go throw some lead!

It will be back in the 80s tomorrow for at least a week. It was pretty chilly early this morning - I think the low was 37 per my truck. Nights are pretty much in the high 40s just before dawn. That is nice weather since I am used to upper 90s or low 100s! I picked up my new Rossi .38/.357 M92 today so I am anxious to get shooting it. I have some .357 brass sitting there empty. Most of the bullets I have for it are SWCs, though.....I think a few RNFP 125 grains are there, too. It goes with one of my favorite handguns to shoot - a nice S&W Combat Masterpiece - very accurate and pleasant to shoot.

Does anyone know if someone makes a butt cuff (also covering the buttplate) to fit a Rossi M92? I have 3 of them. I have a nice one on a Chinese clone of a Winchester M97 shotgun but that maker is out of business. . I would prefer no cartridge loops but could live with them. It would not have to fit the curved stock as I could fill that in.

The Rossi stock is pretty small - about 1.25" wide. I would like one of the lace on style to go along with the Western style. I found one place called Logos Leather, but they don't have an online store - just a "Contact us" link. They showed some examples that look like they should work, including the curved buttplate. I would prefer one without cartridge loops.

I am looking forward to getting my new/used Rossi M92 .357 out. I anticipate a ton of fun with it.

this forum has been hit or miss - usually miss. Sometimes I get right on, other times it times out. Then it works fast or not at all...

Amazingly, I was somehow able to get on this after randomly trying, while waiting for something else.
There is the other new, and much better forum over at CAguns; you might want to start something similar over there. It is growing, while Calguns sputters in death throes on its way out. There is much discussion about what has happened here, and the shenanigans of the Janitor which has led to the downfall.
