Thought of that. Being that they're from the Philippines, they might find it interesting. Gonna show 'em the sights of Bishop and surounding area.
Certainly going to hit Schat's, Mahogany Smoked Meats and some eats joints. A brewery or two! Show 'em how it;s done!

It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

No Bodie, sad to say. Wife wanted to go to Yosemite, drive around, then head home from there. F that! Just going to cruise the area and check stuff out.
Besides, heard Yosemite is kinda full of smoke from a fire they have up there.
Maybe show 'em the Alabama Hills. Good pizza place there in Lone Pine.

Are you going to try and fish Pleasant Valley Reservoir?
Or maybe Rock Creek, right next to the store at Tom's Place?
I used to fish both those spots, but I haven't been up that way for a long time.God Bless America - My iTrader rating - https://www.calguns.net/forum/market...2-transactionsComment

We've spent a lot of time up at Rock Creek lake back in the days. In the fall when Lake Crowley was on I used to camp at French camp (behind Tom's Place) and drive over to Lieghton springs to launch my float tube. I miss those days.
My buddy was in the fire camp (prison camp) across from Pleasant Valley Res. We used to drop off a couple bags of Avocados and a few cases of sodas, then we'd go over to the south end of the res and fish for a few hrs...that's about the only time we fished there. I think it was winter, most of the fishing stopped north of Pleasant Valley.
Good times for sure. I've spent many many weeks/months up there camping and fishing with my family .
It's an ugly lake but Crowley is by far the best lake up there when it comes to big trout. It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

I won't denigrate my colleagues' taste for fishing, for golf... I get it. They surely must be some of the MOST PLEASANT pastimes known to man. Just never took to 'em.
I think it's that if my weekends don't involve sawdust, gasoline or gunpowder and the Mojave I'm just not interested...

We all love hitting the Bullseye with our reloads. Catching a 3# wild rainbow with a fly that you tied..... there's just nothing like it.

Naw, no fishing. Just going to be tourists. Tom's Place! Man, I get a bit stumbly thinking what I've done around that place. Killer bar there.

How about going over to Devil's Postpile National Monument?Yeah, no kidding. Get to feeling better Rick. I'll be missing the fish fry also. Heading up to Bishop for a few days to fool around. Taking some in-laws that have never seen that part of the state. Thank I'll regale them with tall tales of trout fishing and beer drinking. Sound about right?

It's one of our favorite places to camp.
If you throw you camping gear, float tubes and or fishing gear in the back of your truck they use to let you drive down there for free but I think it's now a $10 fee. They're gonna get-cha one way or the other. We've had some mighty good times down there. The hike to Minaret falls is a must along with Devils Postpile and Raninbow Falls. It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.
