Ya know ya open the safe door and it does say "Howdy.", that red color does. But not in a slap ya upside the head kinda way, more of a firm handshake kind of way. Yeah its put together purty nice.

I had Boomer out couple of days ago to use as a prop for another shot. Ended up taking some pics of him too. Thought I'd share them here. He's been around in the past but we've got lots of new members they may not have met Boomer.

Dangitt. Somehow I didn't realize there were more recent 1895's made. Now I'm looking at them. A 30-06 lever would be awesome. Thanks Horsewright...

Browning makes the BLR is .30-06 along with a host of other rounds. No "old time" panache, however. A friend shot one in .308 with a short barrel in our underground range and I thought it had the sharpest blast ever. It blew my hair and slapped me in the face as I sat next to him looking through a spotting scope. (Yes, I was well behind the muzzle.)

              Picked up the Henry!

Was hoping for more sunlight to make the colors pop but this is all we get.

Looking good. It's always nice picking up a gun after having to wait for it. I'm sure the color looks good in person and you have to love that octagonal barrel.
My CCH Henrys have not come in yet and I'm getting a little anxious. But, I was told it could take a while.

I guess it's like what happened with the 1911 pistol machining/manufacturing pattern... 'cause that Henry (and others like it) look like a Marlin.

But being that it is a Henry, is it still too heavy?

I gotta say the owners manual for this Henry is kinda half assed, it doesn’t even have basic disassembly instructions. They simply suggest you open the action to clean the bore lol.

I am not experienced at breaking down lever actions at all. The most I've ever done is remove the stock and lever assembly to get to as much of the insides as I can. It's been a while since I cleaned the Winchester and that's all I remember doing. I haven't shot the Henry yet so I haven't done anything to it.

Marlin's/Henry's are pretty easy to take apart and put back together. There's probably a ton of how too videos on Youtube..

I don't own a Henry Big Boy but from what I've read, they are very similar to the Marlin
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Yeah, it's easy if you know what you're doing. Those guys on YouTube have done it dozens of times and they make it look simple. Just remember, it's often easier to take something apart than it is to put it back together correctly. And when it comes to a firearm it has to be put back together correctly or bad things could happen.
