I should pair the 1894 with a single action revolver. I actually have a Ruger SBH in .44 mag as well. But the loads I like to shoot in it aren't the loads I plan on shooting in the Marlin. If things go according to plan, I'll actually shoot the same load in both the Marlin and the S&W!

That's a darn good combo right there. Is that a Remington made model 94? I really like the walnut that they used in that later days

I have a 94c Remlin .357 thats perfect. I wouldn't trade it for any JM stamped gun.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Thank you. This Marlin was made in 2000 and is JM stamped. From my limited experience, the early Remington-made Marlins were hit or miss, but by the time the Marlin "Dark Series" came out, I was ready to pick up a "Remlin!" They looked good (I got to check out a Dark Series in 30-30) and I put in an order for a Dark Series in 44 mag, which unfortunately never materialized due to the bankruptcy.

      Cannot wait to see a Ruger-made 1894!

Same here. They seem to be doing a good job so far.

Next time up there I want to be dragging my little 10' trailer behind me. Just finished installing and wiring it's electric brakes, and, guess what? They work! Imagine that. Now onto the interior...

That's a nifty little rig for that J-frame. I've got shot loads for .45 Auto and .44 whirlenpoppers but I don't think I have any for my Model 60... gonna have to work on that.

Here's a photo I found from a few years back. I'll post it here and say Happy Friday, MLC.

I can understand that, however, the .41...

I have the rest of my life to develop my own favorite loads for it.

But one must remember it's all downhill from here.

Hot Tip for your S&W 629 is a set of "X Frame Grips." The grips for the X Frame guns fit right on the N Frame and L Frame guns with the Birds Head Frame. (All current S&W revolvers..)

There is about 3/8" of padding where the web of your hand goes, which makes those guns much easier to live with. I have a set on my S&W 696 .44 Special, night and day difference. Best $40 I spent on that gun.

Apples: You don't need "Loads" for it,,, you bought 700 rounds from the hardware store in Ojai! Remember you are good to go for the foreseeable future.

Just in case people were wondering,,,, the top gun in that pic is NOT a Carbine, it is a "Short Rifle."

The bottom gun is a Carbine. Notice the difference.?

Lets see some pics of the trailer. I guess you got the Suspension figured out?

But most of those were LAX "New Manufactured", meaning, Starline brass and a Berry's plated rnfp.

Berry's plated revolver fare has according to their website a speed limit of +/-1250 fps.

I have had to clean that short rifle's bore of some pretty nasty-looking plating fouling, which means those LAX +/-1000 fps handgun loads are reaching 1300 fps from the 20" barrel... so I like to, now, pull those plated slugs, inspect the powder levels, then seat and crimp a Hornady XTP.

For now. When I've more time for my firearms I'll get to chamfering that Marlin's chamber portal so's I can load up some SWCs and have them feed without a snag.

When I say "loads" - I mean hunting loads using BARNES copper rnfps. The target loads we have handled!

I have been aware of the differences between a lever carbine and a lever action short rifle for quite some time (the style of forend furniture and sling swivel) but we never stop learning.

For example, Randall's illustration of front sight placement between the two...

I have 2 short rifles model 92s, not one of them has a barrel band and they all have a forend cap (just sold the rifle) Take a look at the 4 new Marlins on their site, they're no barrel band. It does look like the 94 on that site is the 94 cowboy/Oct barrel

Look on GB, most if not all 94c have barrel bands.

In my very limited knowledge....the end cap is the deal breaker but I'm not so sure Apples has a rifle in his pic because they both have barrel bands. Confused yet?
