    ^ ^ ^ That's so nice it's painful to look at.

    Wait a minute; where's the bar gonna be located?

    The galley and the coffee bar will be at the aft end of the rig, right when I open the rear door. Half the galley will be hanging on the inside of the rear door.

            Oops. The price just went up...... I figured out the extractor problem. Someone had worked on this gun before me - the lower right extractor was in backwards, with the case extractor claw towards the rear of the bolt and the flat smooth side against the case rim. Also - the extractor has two springs, one inside the other. The main spring, and inside it is the "helper" spring. The helper spring is missing.

            I just ordered two new springs and a new roll pin from Midwest Gun Works, so the total fix will cost me $25 delivered.

            Should have just bought a decent one to begin with.

                guess this shoulda been posted with my '71 BLRs the other day but just got this in the mail today and since it's an '81 catalog, didn't expect to find this.. little teaser for those of you that know how nutty I am about birth years - I've got a doozy for y'all coming soon and trust me you won't be disappointed
                <snip>
                well here's the reason for '81 Browning catalog.. my apologies it's not a lever gun but I'm so excited I wanted to share with y'all

                Mrs. Bee has mentioned the interest in a 20ga clay gun last few years so the hunt was on for a birth year gun for my better half.. had some prospects but nothing jumped out at me..

                friend of mine at work showed this to me, said this would be nice if I don't find what I'm looking for in '81.. so what the heck, I called the shop and just about fell out of my chair when he said PZ serial!

                brought it home today to hide 'til her birthday in may.. thankfully I don't think she pays any attention to my internet ramblings so secret should be safe with us.. hopefully she'll be as excited as I am LoL

                little bit of research I've done so far, these were hand engraved (1978-1984) and held in high regard.. 20ga and skeet models both possibly a little less common too.. I called Browning right after I purchased it few weeks ago and talked to a historian today.. they're expediting a letter addressed to her

                  My Lord, that shotgun is spectacular and your wife has amazing taste....at least in guns

                  Isn't that a little lever on top that breaks open the action? That's qualifies as a lever gun today.

                          Wow I agree on all accounts including the lever on top!!!

                          Made one of our flying transverse trips across the Mojave yesterday. Hope someone got to do some shooting. 44 degrees when we stopped at the Boron rest area and completely windless. Literally shirt sleeve weather without the wind. Bout 6:45. Stopped at Valley Wells too and it was in the low 50s and again gorgeous with no wind. Only windy bit was just east of Barstow for a bit. Made it up to Alamo NV and met my son and his wife. Swapped a horse with him and brought our DIL back with us for a bachelorette party this weekend. Alamo is five hours for them and five hours for us. Grabbed a bite and headed back. 60-70s everywhere and still pretty windfree. Again just east of Barstow and then at Mojave itself. Bout it.

                              I finally shot my Henry 45-70. I’m not super impressed at this point. Both the forearm and stock came loose after about 20 rounds, I haven’t fiddled with it yet it to see if it’s an easy fix, but the stock screw wasn’t loose enough to turn with a fingernail.

                              I was getting frustrated trying to hit steel at 100 yards and getting nothing. I eventually Just started aiming at the berm to see how far off I was. It shoots about 6 feet low at 100 yards with the lowest sight elevation. I had to adjust to the maximum elevation notch to start getting hits at 100 yards. I was sighting in another rifle so I had a target at 50 yards. I aimed for bullseye with the lowest elevation adjustment on the 45-70 and it was about 24” low. The ammo was 300gn RNFP from LAX.

                              I assumed shooting 45-70 much out to 200 would be like lobbing artillery, but I didn’t think the factory sights would max out at 100 yards.
