    Anyone have any load suggestions?

Go to your powder manufacturer's websites for load data. Too, you might find data from your bulletmakers.

I have some old books, and some data from the early 1980’s.
Let me see what I can find.

Edit: From my notes, and using H335, I was using 30 grains to push a 170 grain jacketed, flat-nosed bullet. My notes do not give a velocity, but there is a footnote saying “very good accuracy from model 100TW”. That would be my Sears/Winchester 1894. My journal says I loaded two hundred rounds of that, after an initial twenty from the previous entry. Cases were mixed, Federal primers. This was from 1983. Generally, when I find a good load that works, I load a larger batch immediately after. I still follow that practice.

I really don’t understand why 30-30 brass and loaded ammo is so hard to find.

I’ve been to several gun shops that had all manner of random and obscure ammo but 30-30 is nowhere to be found.

With over 7,000,000 Winchester 1894s made over the last 120 years, not to mention Marlins so chambered, it has put more meat on America's table than perhaps any other cartridge next to .22.

When the world went crazy March 2020, the supply of .30-30 was sucked dry along with every other popular cartridge. It's being made, but demand remains high.

Do you need some 30-30 brass?
I am sure I can spare some.

                    Varget
                    Benchmark
                    IMR 4227

                    Anyone have any load suggestions?
3031 is one of the go-to powders for 30-30.
Looks like benchmark and H335 are right close to 3031 so those would be my picks if I didn't have a jug of 3031.
                    4227 is too fast.
                    Varget is too slow.

I’ve got about 180 pieces of once fired but it doesn’t seem like enough. It’ll get me through load development but if I find a few loads I like it’d be great to have more brass to load.

I haven’t been able to find any 3031 but it’s been on my radar. My H335 jug is getting to be slim pickings so I was hoping that wouldn’t be my best load lol.

                        That's enough.
Once you finish finding a load, you probably won't shoot more than 20-40 a day with it.
I think I keep 100 pieces of brass for each of my 30-30's.

Kerplow, do you have any Win 748 powder? Or Reloader #15?

The two I mentioned work well in the 30-30, as does IMR 3031 that Randall brought up. Best to use a magnum primer with 748.

I use 748 for both 30-30 and .308. I had not heard to use a magnum primer with 748 in the 30-30 loads, can you give us the resource for this? I do have LR magnum primers but not near as many as standard (these are for my .300 WSM loads).
