Welcome Mojave Pete! where are you located (roughly)?

With a name like that I would think you are in town. LOL

I'm out of Backus and Mojave-Tropico.

Well... at the risk of being strung up as an imposter...
I'm in North Hollywood. Arguably not the good part.

The "Mojave" bit is not-so-much a reference to the town, but rather to the vast expanse of largely unpopulated but beautiful, interesting desert. Which I ought to be out exploring, before it gets too hot...
I love the smell of Cosmoline in the morning... It smells like... History!

I grew up in North Hollywood (1949-1958) so you're okay in my book. You're okay anyway since you are a lever guy.

            Welcome!

Seems like you know the desert a bit. And have levers and single actions.
              Got my vote. Welcome!

Funny, that's the way it is with us, too.

                Right, Tom?

Just say the word. My truck's all packed and ready to roll at a moment's notice. I want to hit the western section of the Mojave Road, but I don't want to do it without using the vehicular buddy system.

I'm not opposed to travelling solo, but it isn't necessarily always wise unless I'm travelling to a known spot where heavy rain hasn't altered my intended route.

                Let's go!

                  IN OTHER NEWS...

I was able to shoot my .45 Blackhawk convertible, and using .45 Auto.

Bergmen was kind enough to send some brass! as I have already mentioned, but at the last minute I stopped into LAX Ammo where they had 50 rounds of loaded .45 Colt. Halleluja. Oh, I paid for it all right, but I can use the brass!

I'll post more of my initial impressions when I can get these danged pictures to load from my phone. Might not be til tomorrow, now. Busy day tomorrow. Have an appt. with calguns' favorite 'smithy to have the front sight correctly clocked on my Marlin 1894 SBL, some ghost-ring irons installed on my 39A and to have a new ejector pinned in place on one of my Springfield 1911s.

Y'all might as well sign me up to the MLC; I've got a few lever long guns, and a couple single action revolvers, as well.

That is, until the next boating mishap.

FWIW: I'm a SASS shooter, moniker: Mojave Pete

Glad we were able to get ya roped and branded. MLC!

Hahaha... ^ ^ ^ there you have it. Roped! and branded MLC. Speaking of... I need to come up with a suitable brandin' iron logo using the letters MLC.

Dave, I'm gonna start lookin at brands throughout the years. Gotta good place for me to start?

MEANWHILE... been a busy few days. Did some shootin on Monday with Rick/Calif Hunter, and, man, he's on a whole 'nuther level. Good grief! he's a good shot. Pics later. Still having phone issues.

Then, yesterday I had an appointment with calguns' very own ar15barrels/Randall to gunsmith two levers and a 1911 ejector. Passed a very pleasant few hours and tuned up an old .22 lever and that Marlin 1894 SBL I bought two years ago. You know, the one made by chimpanzees.

My second time out at his Randall's place and I always leave pleasantly surprised by his skill, his experience, his appreciation for all firearm types and his generosity.

All things considered, and because of who I have "met" while here, I am richer because I belong to calguns.
