Yes, I think it will clean up well. Take a good look at the last pic - on the bottom right side of the receiver, it is laser engraved "Simpson LTD G'BURG IL".
I know who the Simpson folks are, but I wonder why the engraving?
Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

probably imported sometime in its life.. purchased or owned in a foreign country and imported through Simpson..
Simpson Limited - Explore our trusted selection of antique and modern firearms, collectibles, and accessories. Family-owned since 1962.
most foreign manufactured guns sold in US market will have manufacturing country of origin and the US company address..
I don't own any winchesters made outside the US such as Kochi or Miroku but I do have some Brownings made in Belgium with the Morgan Utah address on the barrel..
what is on the barrel of your 9422m?
might inquire to Simpson with your serial to see if they can share their record info..
turning out to be an interesting rifle
I started out with nothing - and I still have most of itComment

Half a mil is too rich for me but damn that thing is gorgeous. The wood is spectacular. Anyone who could afford it is a lucky man.Thinking about bidding on this one when it comes up. Thoughts?

I doubt they will take it in trade for a well-worn Glock 19.Comment

...or P-51 Mustangs. When I was in high school (mid-60s), Mustangs were available for around $10,000. They are going for over $2,000,000 each these days.

That is strange. I think Killer bee is on par, its strange that they didn't add another serial number like I've seen on most other imports.
What's with the wood work on the buttstock. It looks like a golfish...I mean goldfish. It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

My new mini 30 lever gun (It has a lever that you pull back to charge it)
I traded my new Rossi R92 44 mag for it.
I've always wanted a mini 14, for some crazy reason things never worked out. I remember seeing them in Wester Outdoors News for years under $300.00.
When I started assembling ARs my "want" for them kind of died out. Then a couple years ago I had a look at a mini 30.
When I put up the Rossi FS a gentleman contacted me wanting to trade and the deal was done. This one is a series 189 made in 1991.

Mark, that cleaned up well. Looks like we might have a couple of new desert plinkers. Check my post here in Manually Operated. Surprise!
