    Not manufacturing if....

That said, due to CA's "home built (80%)" firearm laws, starting 01-01-2017, it may no longer be legal to make an exempt pistol (dimensionally compliant bolt-action/break-top single-shot pistol) and convert it to semi-auto because it would be considered making an unsafe handgun.

Because "manufacturing" is now legally defined as: [PC 29180(a)]
    A. Fabricating or constructing a firearm.
    B. Fitting together parts to construct a firearm.

It can now be argued that converting the firearm from single-shot to semi-auto, is making a new firearm.

    {wait and see mode, while lawyers do battle}

    Penal Code 29180
    in another thread.

Like you said, wait and see while lawyers do battle, but I (and millions of other Californians) do not plan on either getting 07 FFL, US Department of State licenses, and / or State of California registration merely to do what has been understood as constitutional activity for unlicensed person since this country was founded.

I think it's pretty clear that there's a line to be drawn. It got drawn a while ago, we weren't the ones who crossed it. When the State decided it was going to start trying to pass the "ghost gun" bills, Brown's first response was to veto them (one after the other). But eventually, he caved and AB 857 got signed into law.

Being that the State crossed that line, it will need to answer in court for its criminal approach. People exercising their rights are not the criminals here.

I preordered one months ago. They recently sent an email saying it's delayed a month but they're including some free extras to make up for it.

I self registered 2 of my 80% pistols on the volreg.pdf form before the end of 2016 so I could be grandfathered in. We'll see how the AOW registration turns out. Might just end up taking them out of state if it get's too hairy.

So i was just going through the online form for vol reg and I got a question at "MAKE" drop down menu. Would i put Armalite? or "MADE IN USA"? Everything else makes senses based off the info from this thread (model, SN, Cal, etc)

"Make" is your personal full name.
It will come back registered to "US" (Unlicensed Subject)

The space between U and S is important, its listed as " U S " and not " US "

Innovation is the name of the game

We have to keep innovating. The MA-loader, by Mean Arms, described above, is one such amazing innovaton, there are many more.

I saw a new one April 29th being released by a guy at a FNRA 25th Anniversary event (the event was VERY 80 percenter friendly with various 80 percent kits being given away including full rifle 80 percenters with all the parts put together except the lower receiver was unfinished and there was no trigger group).

The innovation I saw yesterday evening at the FNRA event (which received quite a bit of applause from the hundreds of pepole who were there when it got a special mention at the dinner) was this:

                        Website:
(Shows the product as being available for AR-15 and soon to be available for AK-47, and probably for HKs) https://oldcoast-industries.com/collections/all

Anyway, it's a bit pricey, and it's obviously cheaper to just make a featureless build and use a monsterman grip (or make your own grip with similar dimensions), but for those who want the ability to switch back and forth in the meantime, this is a cool innovation.

A restricted feature on semi-auto pistols is the ability to accept detachable magazines outside of the pistol's grip. [PC 30515(a)(4)(D)]

Therefore, installing that grip on an AR style pistol will not make the handgun "featureless".

When I saw him demonstrating it at the FNRA event, it was being demonstrated on a long rifle. I am guessing it may not be viable for pistoliers.

So who has deals on the Sig brace? Joe Bob's has the pink one for $49 but that's not really my color.
