Any idea when it's supposed to be up and running? I need to submit my app this week to avoid a lapse in LTC validity.

FYI, the State has made some changes to the application and Solano has updated their packet. Make sure you download the current application from the county website.

Picked up my renewed permit on Monday. Quick and painless. I have nothing but praise for Kelly, she's quick and efficient.

Same experience here with my renewal back in May. She's a great asset to the Department!

Seems like eons ago when I first met you and your wife during the LTC meeting in Dixon(?) where Gene Hoffman was guest speaker. That started the ball rolling for me as far as getting a permit.

I have a quick question on the firearms/handguns you list to be able to carry. I have an off roster XDs that I purchased before I moved to CA. Would it be advised to list an off roster handgun? Should I buy a new gun that is on the CA roster for concealed carry?

It is, I believe a requirement, that you register it within a certain time frame when you move into the State. There is nothing illegal about owning a non roster handgun, only illegal for a FFL Dealer to sell them when new. I believe they can sell them as used though. It is not legal to bring a magazine with it over 10 rounds.

Both of my listed guns are on the roster, but I'm pretty sure others here have used off-roster guns. On the other hand, it's as good an excuse as any for a new gun

I've had my eye on a glock 26 or something in the M&P lineup.

yes I've register all of the handguns I moved into the state with. I guess I was more concerned about whoever reviews the applications to deny me even though the gun was legal to own.

How many days or weeks did it take for her to get her letter after turning in the app?
