Vallejo here, so is Tony and Kenmark. Almost forgot Frank, the Subway guy. You're in AmCan, right? Maybe we should try a downtown Vallejo location.

I'd be in for a lunch or something, as would my brother. We're both in the general neighborhood.

          I don't think it's nice,...you laughing.
You see, my mule don't like people laughing.
He gets the crazy idea you're laughing at him.
Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to,
I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Congrats! Just wondering if your permit is signed by Gary Stanton or by the new Sheriff?

Excellent! Just got an email from one of the county supervisors staff. The email stated Sheriff Ferrrara intends to continue the CCW program as implemented by the former Sheriff. Kudos to the new Sheriff.

Sheriff Ferrara is the appointed Sheriff of Solano County and he will be finishing out the term of Sheriff. There will not be any special election.

This is all good news! Congrats on getting your permit for those that recently picked it up. Also, good to hear the next sheriff is on the same page as the previous. I have about 45-50 more days in the sandbox and will be home to fill out my app and go through the steps.

After Reading the GC statements, I have a couple questions.

The majority of the examples seem to be business owners or people who work in professions who put them at high risk while regularly interacting with the public. Are folks of more modest needs even applying? "I'm afraid for my life while walking to/from my car at night in front of my house", as I'd assume the average person is, seems pretty minor by comparison.

Should those of us with more modest need (as compared to the extremes) even bother applying, or would our denials just sour the Sheriff's office on issuing?

Quite a few of the examples seem to have a lot of hyperbole I'd almost call pandering in there.
"I'm a firm believer in 2a rights" "I've been an NRA member for x years" (how ardent a supporter you are is immaterial. You probably wouldn't apply if you were anti. You might even be causing greater scrutiny as a "gun nut"),
"Budget cuts are causing longer response times" (just a fact, does it need to be started?)

Is this kind of "statement of the obvious" good? I'd almost be concerned about offending the Sheriff reading about things they already know (rise of crime, budget cuts, gang activity, response time, etc)

I'm working on my draft of GCS, if anyone is willing/interested in reviewing it for me.

                              Thanks!
                              Scott

Got to meet Frank a few weeks ago while out hunting of all things as he doesn't fit the bill in looks as to what your stereo-typical wintertime outdoors-man/waterfowler would look like, but then neither do I for that matter I suppose. Young inner-city experience with a few country tendencies is a mix he wears well.
