I'm really interested in my ltc. I just moved to Vallejo, and while some neighbors are okay, I clearly see printed firearms when people walk by my house all day.
I know how to look for them, and that's okay, but I'd feel a lot safer with my own ltc off my own property.

I have dros'd pistols, but since I have a small pot possession arrest, under an oz, ( and it was 8 years ago, I've obviously quit since), with a drop in charges due to intervention. Would this disqualify me from a ltc in Solano?
Also, its slightly off topic, but the Vallejo citizens academy?

Whatever you decide to do, just be honest on your application and disclose all arrests/convictions. They are going to find out anyways. Its better for you to tell them honestly than to omit anything and have it discovered on your background. I disclosed my arrest on my app and I was still approved. It wouldn't hurt to say how the arrest was a turning point in your life and ended up being one of the best things to happen to you because it straightened you out. This is basicly what i said and i had no issues.
Just read as much as you can in the solano forums and download all the good cause statements and read them. It will give you a good starting point on writing your own and an idea of what works and what they are looking for. Good luck!

Btw, be grateful you're in Solano County and not any of the other Bay Area counties. Here you at least have a chance for a CCW

Update. Waiting on my letter back after having to appeal (disclosed minor issue from 10 years ago, he wanted clarification). BE SURE TO DISCLOSE ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING. Buddy didn't disclose a trespassing arrest from 20 years ago that was EXPUNGED and got denied and then appeal rejected when he could not provide any documentation on the incident.

Good Luck I had that same issue but I still got denied after the appeal.

Can I ask what your issue was? I have documentation from every possible source regarding mine and the appeal has been in way north of 30 days now so I have some hope. Read lots about people with even criminal issues from way back getting theirs. Mine was 10 years ago at this point and were never any charges or arrest. Here's hoping.
