I was told 90 days from receipt by CA DOJ. I don't know when in the process that happens.

Just curious... do you mean the running the gun itself? I was told that I could bring the information about a new gun I bought when I pick up the permit and they could run it in 30 minutes to an hour.

As an update, the investigator just called me to ask me a few questions about my background. He said I should have a final answer in the next two weeks.

I think this is where the descrepancy is. The electronic results are back within 24 hours usually, but I have been told by several they (SO) wait for the hard copy results to be mailed so they can include them in your file. I think this is where the extended wait time may be coming from.
