      First off: CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Next: Wait a minute. Are you saying San Joaquin is now issuing CCWs for law-abiding folk for mere "self-defense" as Good Cause???

Q: Has anyone else gotten approved with only SD as GC?

Is it time to put a on the OP of this thread and put an "UPDATE" saying SD is now accepted as GC?

It appears to me that several who applied in feb are being approved if you look through the thread. I would say they took a reasonable time and did a good job. The process and people were professional. I had no problems whatsoever.

        and i agree.. needs a

I do understand that this MAY be election maneuvering on the part of Sheriff Moore, and I would be inclined to say it is likely some part of it. His CCW history appears to be poor in this area... but he said it and hes following through; that can be seen here.

How many of those have gotten calls saying they're approved?
How many now have CA CCW permits?

At least half a dozen. Just one is enough to make the declaration: San Joaquin County is now following the Peruta decision.

Start applying, folks. I have updated the first page.

Got the call, CCW approved, no restrictions.

28 Feb 2014 dropped application and had interview

3 Apr 2014 SJSD called and told me my checks were complete

10 Apr 2014 SJSD called and said I could pick up my license!
No restrictions means permit is good for all of California or only for San Joaquin county?

For all of California (except, of course, where it's forbidden by law).

So I talked to one of the Sgt's for SJSO. I had a question (unrelated to CCW) but the topic came up. Supposedly Moore is signing about 40 ccw's a week right now and has made it known to staff he intends to keep doing it. We shall see how this plays out and yes he is definitely shooting for the election.

All done. The investigator was very pleasant. He said as a previous applicant, I should hear back a little sooner than the three months they are telling new applicants. The office lobby was pretty packed. There were at least ten other applicants in and out of there while I was there. The in estigator said they had appointments for 1500 on the books.

After all your criticism of the current Sheriff and goings on about Withrow....I am gonna giggle my little tushy off if for some reason you get denied while everyone else is getting issued.....

BTW: where I am from....that would be called irony....

So I called last Tuesday (4/7), left a voice message for an appointment.

Called again on last Thursday (4/10) and got a hold of someone, but they said the person making appointments would need to call me back.

Does this sound typical? Should I keep calling until I actually get an appointment?
