Should the CCW training be passed first before the actual appointment, and will it increase the probabilities of getting approved for the CCW during the interview if i bring it to the attention of the Sheriff?

The app says, if the Sheriff has signed the CCW application, new applicants must then complete a 16 hour course.

So now that it finally looks like I might actually be getting a LTC, I need to ask again. Is PC832 still equivalent to a 16hr CCW course? And does it matter that I took PC832 back in 2010?

Did you read the 10 page packet of documents that was sent in addition to the application? Is has all of the info you are asking.

Next step is to call and schedule your appointment. You will then take the paperwork and payments with you to the appointment. Read the documents they sent you for the fee info.

so do I need to email the SO to get the packet or can I just use the standard DOJ form?

Ive already called and scheduled and appointment. I was able to get one for April 2nd. and that was requested, id sounded like she was about ready to give me an appointment for early march.

I was able to call Melanie in the wee hours of the morning. She immediately sent me an E-mail containing the application and instructions, she also set my appointment in April, which I believe is quite a bit ways from now.

What should I expect during the interview?

If we were previously denied based on "lack of good cause" could we do this through some kind of appeal process rather than starting over with a new application? I have heard that we do not need a new livescan. Is this true? Part of me wonders if this is even worth it.

I will wait. I rather see Pat signature on my license if I get one. Even if S.M is magically giving out unrestricted permit we all know he is doing it for the wrong reason.

From what I have read, appeals to denials or revocations must be submitted in writing within 30 days from the date of the notification letter.

Not sure about the need for a new livescan. Your best bet is to call Melanie and ask. 209-468-4342.

And I too wonder if all this is worth it but I want to believe it is and that things are finally changing. Time will soon tell.

In regards to the Livescan fee, Melanie told me that I would need to pay it again since it has been over a year since I had applied with the SJCSD and been denied. This is in direct conflict with what the PC says:

                                PC 26185 states:
